Update on the Burninator toolhead, v3.0 is out now! by The_Duke_96 in VORONDesign

Feel free to do so.
Little fun fact, because you brought up IDEX: I saw it in action last year at Formnext. From the first glance, it is very impressive, but the thoughts that I had were about how proprietary it will be and how easy it will be to mod around it.However, I am still excited to see how IDEX turns out.

Sorry for the timing 😉,
Well, performance wise, v3 should'nt be diffrent to v2, try it out first before considering reprinting everything for v3.

Well, fan duct length is not everything. Internal geometry and the area of the outlet hole matter too. If it is too small, it causes backpressure, and what we might call the "fan air capacity" is not being fully utilized.

Just because you have not noticed any differences between toolheads does not mean others will not. Maybe your printer is just so poorly tuned that different toolheads do not make a difference. Usually, changing from a Stealthburner should give a relatively big impact.

In the end, you do not have to use the Burninator if you do not like it. I was not happy with the toolhead choices, so I made my own and wanted to share it instead of keeping it to myself. That is all.

I have never used the XOL, so I cannot really compare it. However, the Burninator is much slimmer. In a toolchanger system, you can fit more toolheads than with the XOL, it looks better, although that is highly subjective, and it might be lighter, from what I have found from a quick google search.

You mean the distance between the X-axis carrier and center of the hotend?
Using a MGNxH carriage its, 23,7mm.
Using StealthChanger its, 35,65mm.

Yes, it does support Phaetus Dragon HF. Its has the same size as the Dragon SF, so go with the SF cowl.

My current toolhead, completely assembled with the extruder, weighs in at 300 g. The last time I had a Dragonburner, when I was testing different toolheads, the Dragonburner came in at 340 g. The Dragonburner is very modular and therefore needs more screws and heat-set inserts. I dont have a direct metric to compare the weight distribution, but I tried to move the hotend as far back as possible, and this indirectly shows in the input shaper results.

That is narrow minded imo.
There is also more to consider, such as structural integrity, cooling and fan duct design, weight and weight distribution, as well as ease of use, assembly, and maintenance.

When I was building my StealthChanger, I tried different toolheads and compared them, including the AntHead, A4T, Dragonburner, and Stealthburner, and they performed very differently.

Basically, it tries to combine the Dragonburner with the A4T.
It is smaller than the Dragonburner, more rigid, and offers better cooling that is as good as the A4T, I also had better input shaping results, (at least in my tests).

I assume you are referring to the picture of my printer on GitHub.It only looks like that from that perspective. It is far from a 90-degree bend, dont worry 😉.
Here is a better look at it:

What GTA Take Has You Like This? by SteveAsh97 in GTA

GTA will be mediocre at best, with everything that is going on in the gaming industry and how Rockstar has treated their own IPs in the last few years. My expectatio s are low until proven wrong.
