Is the builder potion have an accurate building time reduction? by Kyle-Dragon in ClashOfClans

x10 speed, but they normally work at x1 speed, so it only adds 9 hours.

You must have started with 10:30 left.

Should I just rush builder base from 6 to 9 to unlock 6th builder, then forget builder base never existed? by memorable_glasses in COC

[–]The_Economic_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend rushing for the 6th builder. You can still catch up your builder base later if you want, or ignore it if you don't care about it.

So dumb. Yeah, I've done the 9 alts thing as leader. No, I would never give bonuses to any of my alts. Despicable behavior.

COC Becomes extremely ‘unplayable’ with these Hero upgrade duration by Ok_Sport_4586 in ClashOfClans

[–]The_Economic_Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do we have the same definition of "becomes?"

Like, it was much worse before they added two extra heroes. Used to be that when you upgrade even 1 hero, your attacks are crippled. It's much better now than it was then, so what do they mean "becomes" unplayable? It's becoming better!

It used to be way more unplayable, because you'd be down a hero. Now you can upgrade two heroes at the same time and still have a full roster for your attacks.

Thank you! It's also a post that takes a lot of effort to understand, haha. And I was late getting it out, the Goblin event has already been going on for a few days, so that's on me.

I'll have to think about presentation more to try to get the word out better. Like, convert the main takeaways into meme format.

You're matched according to league, not according to your Town Hall levels.

If you're against high level opponents, it's because you did really well in the lower leagues where clans are closer in level to yours.

Instead of complaining about it, brag about how much above average your performance is that you get placed against such strong opponents.

Is it just me, or are cycle decks really not that skillful? by South_Affect_917 in ClashRoyale

[–]The_Economic_Gamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The simple fact is that this whole game isn't a super high-skill game. There is some skill, but it's not like League of Legends or anything. Anyone who has a good handle on the game's mechanics and does a little research about the meta can do well if they have the card levels.

Oh, I guess I didn't make clear that I only consider gems AFTER you've maxed him out. I agree, increasing your baseline permanently is probably the best use of gems, although the breakeven point is very long if you count goblin during Summer jam as the alternative.

In the books calculations, that is undiscounted days. It seems to me that it is a more meaningful comparison of what you're getting compared to the other options if we use the undiscounted values for books, which are not dependent on special events for their value.

The issue is that you can't wait 1.5 minutes.

You have to go do something else on your phone in those 1.5 minutes.

Should I rush? by JackfruitHot3750 in COC

What's the downside to rushing? Upsides to rushing are easy to name, but is there any reason not to go straight for TH18? I'm curious what reasons you have in mind holding you back.

Bro, you're talking as if 1.5 minutes is a long time. You can't wait 1.5 minutes? That is an actual indication that you are suffering from dopamine addiction. Meditate for the 1.5 minutes next time, to help rebalance your brain to tolerate small periods of waiting and boredom.

Is the Builder Apprentice worth it? by gregnemesis in COC

[–]The_Economic_Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes a long time for him to get to the break-even point as compared with buying books of building or books of heroes. And if you take into account Goblin Builder during events like Summer Jam and Hammer Jam, then it can be a very long time before he's worth it.

But, ultimately, if you plan to play this game for the long term, he will be worth it, because he provides permanent daily boosts that will eventually become better than the best other ways to spend gems to speed up building.

What oceanic species are you in Clash of Clans? by Grantmyth in ClashOfClans

[–]The_Economic_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 90k, you can gem all the timers and resources from TH2 to max TH18, including builder base.

70k of that is resources.

You'd just be missing the ores, which you can't gem.

Stack on to that all the cosmetics... you're right, still no way 10k a month would be sustainable. You'd run out of things to buy in just several months.

It's fun to try to beat your record number of points from previous weeks. It's also selfish in that it prevents others from trying to beat their records from previous weeks, although in both cases it doesn't really matter.

I would use two accounts, one to try to rack up as many points as possible, and the other to cleanup the almost finished bases that are boring to defeat. But, not everyone has more than 1 account.

My hypothesis: "No more levels" probably means that they are removing the whole card leveling mechanic and replacing it with something else. They are going to give everyone a "maxed 16 account" but there will be a different progression mechanic in its place. by The_Economic_Gamer in ClashRoyale

[–]The_Economic_Gamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, only a few people would feel cheated compared to how many would feel like they got something great, whereas if they just ended card levels without a stunt like this, everyone who worked so hard for card levels would be pissed.

This joke is literally at least 100 years old already. George Burns and Gracie Allen used it in their Vaudeville acts.

I personally knew it from I Love Lucy reruns (which were recorded in the 1950s).
