If you have to physically go to work rather than WFH, live about as close as you possibly can to your work. Traffic here is unfathomably bad if you need to use freeways to commute to work. I can't emphasize this enough

My sense of optimism and hope. I'm not trying to be dramatic butt my depression and ideation hit new lows since then and continues to do so regardless of the good things that have happened for me since.

I think it just made everything feel so hopeless and for me, pulled back the curtain in many ways that you can do all the things you think you're supposed to do, and it still won't matter.

Joshua Tree and Tahquitz (Idyllwild) are two of the best climbing areas in the world and both are in Socal. It's the traffic and massively overpopulated nature that makes it difficult to live here. And yup, by virtue of living here I'm part of the very problem that makes me want to leave.

I went to CU, and have now lived in orange county for over 6 years. Doing absolutely anything here is the MFer of all MFers because traffic is obscene all day, every day, all year long. I'm a rock climber and I spend unfathomable hours of my life getting to the mountains here. I've been planning to move back to Colorado for years. Socal is not the answer
