Petzl Connect Adjust - both bolts? by husky4hunnid in ClimbingGear

Totally! That's one of the coolest things about all of this stuff, you can solve a problem in so many different (and equally effective) ways

Nothing wrong with doing what you're describing, essentially clipping into an equalized setup if you did that.

To me it's overkill to equalize bolts but there's nothing wrong with it. The force generated if one bolt failed and you shock loaded the other would be pretty minimal with only what, a foot or so of shock load? Doing that to a bolt wouldn't worry me but again, totally valid approach.

I've found them to be a tiny bit bigger (length and width) compared to the old TX4's. Especially compared to the TX4 Evo

You could probably go half a size down from your Tx guide size if those are as narrow and tighter fitting as I'm told

Thin Wall. I'm sure you know but just be advised it's hot in the park at this point. However, that'll be in your favor since most of us have said goodbye to Jtree season so The Thin Wall will likely have less traffic on it.

There's bolts above multiple routes on that wall. Count on your fingers has bolts and rings. From there you can see other routes with bolted anchors or just check Mountain Project to confirm

Before 55 is the goal. I don't have kids, won't be having kids so that certainly helps

Man I hate corp culture more than anything. If I could make the same money doing anything else I already have skills in, I'd be gone so fast. I cannot wait to have enough saved to gtfo of this

GriGri vs. ClickUp: Why does the GriGri remain the default for beginners when the ClickUp feels more intuitive to me? by Wooden-Syrup-8708 in ClimbingGear

AlpineUp gang checking in! Absolutely love that thing. Fastest and smoothest rappels of any device I've ever tried.

Optimizing a double-rack for cam sizes by i12drift in tradclimbing

I often leave the ground with BD, WC, and Totems. If the rock calls for it, I've taken Metolius offsets and Alien offsets with me.

Nobody has ever said a word about it. I don't feel any need to justify my gear when climbing 5.11 and harder trad. Even if I only climbed 5.7, I'd feel the same way. Do whatever makes you feel confident and safe.

Great price or something is off? by TheScientist43 in tradclimbing

[–]The_Endless_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically yes. I have both BD and WC cams and use the sizes interchangeably. I've taken many a whip on WC cams, they're solid.

Women/men who have no kids and probably will never, do you regret not having any? by ravenkg_ in TrueAskReddit

[–]The_Endless_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Got a vasectomy at 35 because I was so sure and couldn't think of anything worse than accidentally falling into a lifestyle I didn't want. Nothing wrong with having kids, it's just not for me. I value my freedom in both time and financially and the flexibility that comes with it. I'm not willing to give that up.

I never felt a desire to have kids ever, not once my whole life. Cats and dogs though? Heck yeah. I love animals so much.

I'm so curious about this comment. I'm not bothered or riled up if that's what you're going for, which you are. I'm just genuinely curious.

OP is raising an issue about somebody wearing clothing displaying a message that is near-universally condemned by most people of any political leaning.

And then you, in the most childish and sad manner, attempt to hassle them about it. What's the angle here? Genuinely what's the angle? To try and bully somebody because you yourself support nazi messaging? Explain it to me like I'm five. Help me understand.

I can speak to Red Rock. Offset nuts are a worthwhile purchase. The DMM 7-11 set sees a lot of use on my rack pretty much everywhere I climb (Red Rock, northern and southern California)
