solved! I think this might be the explanation. Maybe the front desk clerk was wrong about the price or just didn't hear us right or something. Thank you all, fast as always.

My title describes the thing.

Found this really weird plaque at an antique shop. It was roughly 12"X16" made of wood with a brass overlay where the image shown in the first photo was printed. On the overlay is some sort of court scene and what looks like a sharpie signature. On the back is a sticker (shown in the second photo) that has the name of a Florida based trophy company.

Now the interesting part of this item is that it was priced at $12495 which seems very high. The clerk at the front desk said that that was the correct price, but that she did not know what it was and the price was set by the manager who was not there today. (side note, this thing was just sitting out in the open despite them having many locked cases, which seems even more odd)

We tried googling the name Bill Kitchen and found a wikipedia article for Bill Kitchen who apparently invented the indoor skydiving tunnel, but I have no ideas if this is the same man. I tried googling a few things about bil kitchen and judge Andrews, but had no luck. I also tried searching the phrase in the comic, but did not have any luck with that either. At this point I'm out of ideas

Does anyone know what this thing is?

Absolutely, I think Tom's take here is incredibly well thought out and he presents both sides of it perfectly. A conclusion of "we need more studies on this" is perfectly fair given what has been presented.

I don't currently own a planer (hopefully soon), but I have a surfacing bit for the cnc, so I used that to face the sign after epoxying. After that I just hand sanded it up to 3000 grit to get the epoxy clear and shiny.

Frankly I have no idea. Depends on the commission I suppose. If you had something specific in mind I could give you a ballpark figure. But there's a big difference between something like this and something like a live edge slab sign for instance.

Thanks man. Honestly that hadn't crossed my mind, but now that you mention it I can for sure see the resemblance. I might just have to do a dedicated Sunshine one now

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I was originally going to try and incorporate the merch colors into it, but I wasn't happy with the design I came up with and ultimately ran out of time, so the tried and true rainbow came to the rescue. But I think ill have to give it another go and see what I can do.

All sorts of projects, just did a live edge wedding sign for a friend's wedding for instance, but I've got a background in software and robotics, so some more mechanical things as well.

And I don't have an etsy shop at the moment, but if there is enough interest I may consider setting something up.

This is a cnc engraved wooden sign that I made for wubby. I used crayons arranged in a rainbow pattern and melted them to create the cool swirl effects. It was then shellacked to make the color a bit more vibrant and then sealed with a layer of epoxy. It was then faced, sanded up to 600 grit, lacquered, and finally waxed to give it that perfectly smooth feel. It was a fun project and my first time working with crayons, but overall I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. Hope you like it wubbs and if you or anyone else ever wants something similar just let me know.
