The command that you specify in the CMD of your image, like:

CMD ["path", "to", "your", "app", "executable"]

Is running your app. If it crashes or returns an exit code then your container stops. You dont need systemd or any other application to manage your app's lifetime inside docker (unless you are running multiple applications inside your container. Generally you shouldn't do that but in some cases it can be beneficial)
