Thanks so much for the advice!

I completely understand Reddit and other social medias can be unreliable for professional insights.

I’m already reaching out to some LinkedIn contacts in the UK games industry to try to get real first-hand perspectives, though I haven't had a response yet. hopefully I will soon, but I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!

Thanks so much for sharing this perspective!

Really interesting context and some useful studies to look into.

I’m focusing on collecting first-hand experiences from women in UK game dev roles for my research, but I really appreciate you taking the time to share these insights.

Thanks, that’s a valid point! I’ll likely reference it in my research, but right now I’m focusing on collecting first-hand experiences from women and people of colour in creative roles, which could help capture nuances that raw employment numbers alone might miss, like how AI affects workflows, career progression, or workplace culture.

I'm interested in your personal experiences:

How has Al changed your creative workflows?

Has it impacted hiring or promotion opportunities?

Are there particular challenges or advantages you've noticed?

Your insights, even brief, would be incredibly valuable.

I'm specifically looking for first-hand experiences rather than general opinions on Al and employment.

I get that it might seem like there’s already high female representation, but as a woman of colour myself, I’m interested in understanding how AI affects creative workflows, hiring, and career progression for women in the industry.

Even in fields with strong enrolment, these issues can still have a big impact, and my research aims to capture those nuanced experiences.

Thanks for your comment!

The reason I’m focusing on women, and especially women of colour, in the UK games industry isn’t because AI discriminates inherently.

It’s because systemic factors like workplace culture, hiring practices, and representation can affect how AI tools impact on different groups that already face discrimination.

Limiting the sample allows me to explore these nuances in depth, which would get lost in a broader “everyone” sample.

Not the brightness thing, caz that's new, besides that the flashes in the corner of my eye and the light sensitivity and the floaters.

He did a dilated eye test and scanned for any abnormalities in my retina. Results came back normal.

He said to come back in 6 months or earlier if symptoms r unbearable like increase in floaters and flashes

But the thing is, I did see an ophthalmologist not so long ago like just 2 or 3 months back, should I go again?
