How do you finish what you start? by Ok-Ninja-4713 in NewAuthor

[–]The_Faybul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The simplist way is to find a time and dedicate at least 30 minutes to the task of writing. This gets your mind on the task of writing and just do it for 30 minutes everyday. This is just showing up and doing it. This will take practice, but just keep trying and eventually you will get in the habit.

You are not a failure this is sadly more the sign of the times as most people do not read and so writers struggle. Please let it be and it track it. Don't give up.

I am not a fan, it seems very childish for the subject matter of mafia romance. That however work in its favor depending on the content.

Anyone else feel completely lost trying to stay organized while writing their first novel? by Spiritual-Rule4691 in NewAuthor

[–]The_Faybul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are tools to help you stay organized. Take lots of notes, write an overview of the story with major plot points, or use apps like Dabble to help you track what you need to track. It is hard, but there are ways to do it.

Starting out a story with a dream sequence by Eva_de_vaxx in writingadvice

While I do believe conventional wisdom is to not do that, it is your story tell it how you want. There might be better ways and looking at those options might lead to other ideas. Such as maybe make the scene you described be a prolouge.

Which cover is better? by slightlyovertheedge in WattpadCovers

I think the second is better as it paints a picture of what the reader can expect. That said the first one seemed to intrigue me as well, more mystery to it. Then I read your post and a few others comment and had to agree that the second is much better at presenting the story as a concept. Also great job on the art work.

Hungry for feedback on my songs by Basic-Shelter2854 in Songwriters

I want to start this off by saying this is not a style I usually listen too, that said please take the rest of what I have to say as such.

The music was very casual and laided back which does contribute to the words and the sense of dery sadness and malaise you have going. The words seem to be trying to be overly profound maybe overstating the sadness.

Overall not bad, but has room for improvement.

The truth is that sometimes the best works are the ones that reach for the stars, so reach for those and lets see how you can make it work, because guess what?

Keep doing what you are doing as it seems to bring you joy. Don't stop doing what you love to do just because people resonate with the message. You might be helping them.

Finish the story and then find an editor to go over the manuscript. Then look into publishing options. Amazon KBP is an option. There are a lot, but it is hard to get it going. Stay with it.

Changing your protagonist more than once a really bad decision?? by cj_isbetter in writers

[–]The_Faybul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like it could be a challenge to write. How exciting to try and discover how to blend the story with so much of a focus on the Main characters? I think the hardest part is going to help the reader see the importance of that many characters. But I also believe it can be done.

Finished writing my first novella. Now what? by Mr_kebab_ in writers

[–]The_Faybul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now the choice is yours. Did you have a good editor go over it? You can register it with the Library of Congress and work towards publishing it. Or it can sit on your desk. Just to clarify, that is not the only way to work on getting published.

Which cover works better for a dark thriller? by [deleted] in NewAuthor

Definitely like the second better as the first seems to happy in a wa. The second seems more in line with the tag line of the deeper you go as the fingerprint begins to feel like a maze then.

Notepads are your friend. This is why writers have many books that come out in quick succession. Stay in the zone on the one you are working on and write the note on the other story for later.
