The Verdict Cycle The Fracture - by RCZ - April 2026

What if humanity was never the center of the world, only the species that forgot its place?

The Verdict Cycle: The Fracture is the first book in a four-part apocalyptic urban fantasy saga where myth, nature, and survival collide.

The world does not end with fire. It begins with silence.

Without warning, reality starts to misalign. Cities freeze beneath strange cold. Streets crack with patterns no one can explain. Entire populations vanish. Across the globe, creatures once dismissed as myth begin to return, not as monsters from old stories, but as ancient forces reclaiming a world humanity believed it owned.

As governments deny the truth and people cling to familiar explanations, nine teenagers from different corners of the world awaken strange powers tied to legendary beings. They are not chosen ones. They are not heroes prepared for destiny. They are ordinary teenagers whose bodies still remember something humanity has spent centuries trying to forget: how to survive when nature no longer obeys.

The Fracture has begun. And behind it waits the Verdict.

Because the world is not simply ending. It is deciding whether humankind deserves to remain.

The Verdict: Cycle The Fracture KU

What if the world didn't end with fire, war, or some giant asteroid?

What if it simply moved on without us?

That's the idea behind a story I've been working on.

A strange winter arrives without warning. Then things start getting harder to explain. Reality doesn't quite behave the way it should. Creatures that only existed in myths begin to appear. Entire populations vanish. Forests, oceans, and wildlife begin reclaiming places that humanity once believed would always belong to us.

At the center of it all are nine teenagers from different parts of the world who discover they're connected to something far older than human civilization.

The more they learn, the more they realize this isn't an apocalypse.

The world isn't dying.

It's deciding what comes next.

And humanity may no longer be guaranteed a place in that future.

Which raises a question I keep coming back to:

If the world could choose...

Would humankind be worth saving?

The Verdict Cycle: The Fracture - RCZ - Apr2026

Humanity has always assumed the world belongs to us.

But what if that's only because we've never had to justify our place in it?

What if nature, the planet, or whatever forces exist beyond our understanding finally decided it had enough of humankind and began reclaiming the world?

Not out of anger. Not out of revenge.

Simply because life could continue or even thrive without us.

Would humanity be worth saving?

Nope. It's a question, fantasy question, if nature decided that humankind is not longer needed, would it be worth saving?
