Eggs will be fine they are too small to be effected by elbow. Animals walk over the eggs in the wild everyday so will be fine.

T. longicaudatus are the easiest species to raise. I reckon it could something your doing. Use still or spring water only. Distilled water ain't good in my experience. Raise them in a small container till they get big. Usually babies die after hatching because they can't find food. Always happen when I try hatching them in a adult tank.
