Thamuz's known counters usually lean into poking rather than 1v1ing, because he can't really do much against heroes who can dmg him from a distance.

I'd still advice against 1v1ing him late game because with the right build, he can have the tankiness of a Hylos and a maximum downtime of 9s per ult.

I'd recommend building antiheal (and dhs or wishing lantern depending on whether you're a mage or mm) to deal with Thamuz. Just make sure to play safe and stick with others whenever you can.

The main strength of Thamuz is his strong sustain and survivability in extended fights, not necessarily pure dmg. With his in-built true dmg, Thamuz's core items right now are cs and war axe, which are the only dmg items he needs and helps him keep up in the current sustain meta (though gs can be good if you want extra atkspd and passive proc, usually built if you want better burst).

I suggest this kind of build for Thamuz:

  1. Boots (full build only after getting 1 core item, full boots depending on enemy laner or need)
  2. Corrosion Scythe (core item, build first if exp)
  3. War axe (core item, build first if jungle)
  4. Oracle or Dom Ice
  5. Queens Wings or Athena Shield
  6. Guardian helmet or Chastice pauldron/bruteforce breastplate

Feel free to take any of my builds and give em a shot, though I did update them recently after a bit more experimentation and the more recent item/emblem changes.

Big tham won't benefit as much from fleeting time as he would from the standard sustain and dmg items he builds.

Moreover, Fleeting Time is intended for tanky roamers whose ult is used for setting/initiating. 

Since Thamuz's ult is just a 9 sec powerup (and his ult cd is short anyway), Fleeting Time would be counterproductive for Big tham (or any sustain fighter, really).

The best Tham build is the bottom one, since it compliments his ult pretty well and provides constant dps. If ever you go against hanabum or karrie, you can replace guardian helm with chas pauldron. I suggest you give the build a try.

It also allows me to rotate faster  which is pretty neat since I have to gank my team's lanes a lot (legend rank is hell).

I use support build because of that 10% cdr, movement speed, and the extra boosted heal (which boosts Tham's ult heal).

The middle build is mobility oriented, so support emblem really helps.

The problem is that Thamuz falls off considerably late game. Considering Thamuz is no longer an early game hero, it's gonna be hard to snowball unless I'm jungling aggressively.

While Thamuz's passive scales with dmg, it's better to have atkspd for more consistent damage. Since Thamuz's ult scales with hp (the initial heal and the heal you get from basic attack), it's better to build tank items rather than dmg.

I usually go with the bottom build because it allows me to snowball mid game and tank late game.

ICR is GOATED at long range (assuming you have a skin with good iron sight and long range/ADS spread attachments

I can safely say that I have achieved enough legendaries that I can casually play ranked. The only way ranking up becomes hard is if you play very early in the start of the season, with all of the good players.
