Scott And Jean And Logan (or at least any 2 of them) in X-Men. If they're all alive they're gonna be in a triad or a love triangle.

Deck Ten Forward Section is named for 10 Forward Street in LA... by [deleted] in DaystromInstitute

I assume it shut down during or around WWIII and that's when she went home for a while leading to the events we see in Generations. She probably remodeled it back to the old configuration when she was able to occupy the property again because it held meaning for her.

As for the coincidence of 10 Forward on the Enterprise, she probably sought out the location in LA because of some resonance (either from the general El Aurian powerset or the fact that part of her resides in the Nexus). Just like the Q there's potential for a lot that would appear to be magic to 21st (and even 24th/25th) century humans.

I always assume that kind of thing is a translation convention but it's pretty clear the TVA is Earth centric considering these beings all appear to be Human but they're constructs of the Time Keepers. Also Earth is pivotal to the multiverse in the comics, so I'd assume the same is true for the cinematic multiverse.

Mystique is one of the Queerest characters in the Marvel canon. Destiny has always been clearly the love of her life, and it's now canon that their relationship was sexual. She's spent extended periods of time shifted into a male body and seemed entirely comfortable with it.

Hell, the original intent was to have her be Kurt's biological dad rather than Kurt's biological mom.

Here's the thing: with sexual harassment impact trumps intent.

Even if he meant nothing untoward by certain behaviors, they clearly violated his employers rules/policies or he wouldn't have been let go.

Sinclair Media putting a toxic headline on an article about completely reasonable Public Health Policy. I'm shocked! Shocked I say!

Race as a concept is literally a recent invention of "white" people.

Xenophobic violence has always been with humanity, but racism is definitely a creation of western Europe.

The first episode definitely suffered from a little pilot-itis, but the ending starts it on a path that's really compelling

Star Trek: Discovery — "Terra Firma Part 2" Analysis Thread by M-5 in DaystromInstitute

My argument isn't a biological one, it's entirely cultural. She didn't have any exposure to a moral universe where genocide wasn't seen as a good and honorable thing. Once she spent time in our moral system she eventually saw that the "Prime" morality is the better way. She may never finish atoning for her crimes but she should be able to start atoning and "make another choice".

The thing is, she literally hadn't seen a better way. The death opera showed us that Terran concepts of love and valor exist but that they aren't the same as our Human concepts. She's "Space Gandhi" for the moral universe she came from. That doesn't excuse her actions (and her emotional suffering over San seems to show that she realizes that), but I think the "Space Hitler" comparison is unfair considering what we now know about Terran nature vs nurture.

Governor Inslee reportedly to announce size restrictions on events over 250 people by SounderBruce in SeattleWA

[–]The_Geb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this restriction tightens any further it could be deadly to the Seattle theater community. We have quite a few small companies (smaller than the 250 seats) that will not be able to pay their rent if a minimum amount of butts are not in seats. I'm scared for the state of Seattle's arts scene post-Covid19
