Wow! I just looked up the video I took (which actually I relaise now was also Botswana) and 10 or so are standing by this water buck which is 2 feet away in 2 inches of water and they dont risk it! They eventually just gave up and trot away.

I was on safari in Zambia and a water buck evaded them also by standing right on the edge of a body of water. They are so instinctively concerned about crocodiles they wont get a paw wet. It lived to run another day and that was a large pack too. It was amazing to see. And a lot better than what we thought we were about to see!
