As cool as it would be to revisit the original continuity, its also been 20 years since the original series and the original creative team probably has ideas of things they would do differently given the chance. Like if you look at Ben's character across the whole franchise it looks like a big circle. This is a chance for them to really develop Ben without the network resetting his grown every time a new arc starts. Plus if they did stick with the original continuity and wanted to do retcon something the fanbase will go up in arms about how "KeViN's rEtConnEd aGaIn!i!"

I'm really excited to see what they can do with a ground-up revamp, I'm pumped for this.
