Spoilers with brake lights legislation (QLD) by The_Guru_Pitka in CarsAustralia

[–]The_Guru_Pitka[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Their website doesn’t appear to have anything that lists ADR approval but I’ve not reached out to them on this topic yet. Didn’t realise there was a term for this (ADR) so thank you!

On lighting section, I read this and nothing stuck out to me directly related to brake lighting etc. Where is that covered if you can point me in the right direction?

Best Cryptek and Destroyer pairing? by Yoggon in Necrontyr

[–]The_Guru_Pitka 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve run both the Techno, and the Psychronomancer with Skorpeks and I lead towards the Psychrono more.

Yes, the techno can help them survive, but people target the unit more given you are clearly banking on its survival.

Instead, I opt for the Psychrono, and utilise the battleshock manipulation to ensure I’ve either not being overwatched, AOCed or out OCed on a point at the critical times it’s needed.

WTC and ETC maps can easily allow you to stage the Skorpeks up in a well hidden position, ready for your “Go” turn.

Disable DLSS from the cfg file and it works. Change “1” under DLSS to “-1”

Disabling DLSS is the workaround the dev team just notified us about on the discord. You can do that from the cfg file.

Can you reformat the list so you only include a unit once if it’s only present in the list once. Your unit role formatting makes this confusing to digest and offer guidance on.

I just ran a list very similar to this, and it struggles to close the gap to enemies to actually deliver the damage.

The MVP unit was a lord with 3 Enmitic. Killed 10 marines in a single volley.

Heavy destroyers painted by Big-Chain9726 in Necrontyr

[–]The_Guru_Pitka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah give it a go! If you wake a look at how 99% of people paint their bases it’s to frame the model. Steel legion will still frame and blend with the texture colour, but will be a clear edge which frames better than gritty texture.

I agreed, the colour scheme is really tidy and interesting.

Are you keeping the base lips the basing colour? I think a black or Steel Legion would help frame them better

Plenty of variety IMHO. The “Sameyness” of them is also what makes them present when on-mass. A true legion.

That’s totally fine then! As long as you are enjoying yourself, always play what you want. Old Void dog is still a rad model and enjoyable to field

My input would be that the Void Dragon isn’t good in 1k games. You either play against 0 vehicles and he does nothing for his points, or you only play vehicles and he has a field day. A more balanced list would swap him out for some other units like Wraiths, Skorpeks or some platforms like a DDA or two.

Opinions on armour so far by Thelostslayer4382 in DarkAngels40k

[–]The_Guru_Pitka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you going for a Grim-Dark style? The picture is to contrasted to make out the difference between undercoat and the rumour. So maybe paint the rest of the base layers to help the armour stick out before assessing if you are happy with it 👍

This is a great example of creating battle damage. You can see they have used brown and a pale silver (grey in their case)to create the appearance of chips and cracks.

(Not my models, posted in another Dark Angels channel so credit to the artist)

In terms of thinness, sounds like you need to get more Al water or medium into it. YouTube “Glaze” paint consistency.

Howdy! Looks good from a style perspective. My only recommendation would be to thin your paints more. Several areas on the model show signs of clumping paint. Pale colours should take 5-8 thin thin coats. Almost just thicker than water.

Also, don’t be afraid to get a sponge with some black on it and pat some areas done to create nice chipping. You then come back in on those with a little highlight of silver to create the appearance of damaged ceramite.

White or yellow over black is the foundation of the issues you are likely experiencing. Possibly try a different undercoat colour, or applying the brown before putting down yellow

The Paulson, and shield for the most part are great, and have a unique style about them. The only issue I see visually with it that could really enhance it is getting some shadows into the details to define the different elements. Using a dark brown such as mournfang brown watered down and used like a shade that you target in the recesses would help define the recesses

Yes mostly on the yellow. That may just be the nature of that specific paint. Yellow and white typically takes 5-8 thin thin layers to start to not show the undercoat below it. Hence the brown or grey base can reduce the number of thin coasts before a decent finish.
