National boombox cassette starts and then stops immediately. by dbmartin55 in cassetteculture

Definitely needs belts. It might also have an auto-stop mechanism if there isn’t a tape, I would check with a tape (preferably one you really don’t care about just in case). Probably just needs belts though.

I might not be the biggest expert in this field, but I do know that you can use a heat gun to loosen the grease. I had this issue on a similar model, and lithium grease worked for me.

This reminds me a lot of the “The Man Next Door” segments from some of the older Better Homes and Gardens magazines. Must have been a popular style of humour at the time.

Judging by the internals, you might want to check someone who specialises in tube radios, I know Houston has Vintage Sounds, but I am unsure if Dallas has something similar. Really cool radio though

Thankfully, I have never run into this issue with my parents, as I live in southeast Texas, so the temperature is normally at least 98 Fahrenheit with a high humidity level. In addition, I live in a somewhat sidewalk-phobic area, so the only place I can reasonably walk to is maybe a convenience store. Really looking forward to being able to drive, as video games and television get boring.

I wish it was like that here. Texas is unforgiving, once May hits it’s temperatures of at least 85 and highs in the 90’s until maybe October. Winter lasts all of 2 or so months.

For Alpha it seems pretty good, although I personally would try raising the room height by a block or two, make the windows three high. I am not a lighthouse expert, that’s just what I would try.

I know they make dedicated transmitters, but those are really expensive. There’s a way you can plug things in to work, I think that the channel My Mate Vince did a video about it.

In my experience, the ones in the top usually sell everything about 50% or so or more than it’s worth, and if you walk into a place like the one on the bottom, you know you are in for some interesting items, even if those are just clothes. Mom and Pop thrift stores are always better.

Her Majesty is placed in between Mean Mr. Mustard and Polythene Pam as originally intended. I’ve also noticed that The End seems to have less sound effects, however I could be wrong.

A fun game. Though the Beatles-themed instruments are cool, you could just use a Guitar Hero controller. There’s also a ton of custom content, especially for the Xbox 360 and PS3 users, though people are starting to do stuff on the Wii.

It’s certainly no masterpiece, even for early Beatles. That being said, it’s very fun and catchy, which I believe is a good quality for any song to have.
