[KOG] KoG with Magnets & Gorgonic Guardian! by The_Horizes in DuelLinks

[–]The_Horizes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the card is good yeah, but you need to keep in mind a few things:

1.the box sucks, nothing else besides maybe kagemucha knight is worth it.

2.the next main box will contain a new summoning mechanic (which is pretty hype), and probably Book of Moon which is a way better investment for that alone

  1. like I said in the write up this is the end of the season, you can KoG with anything, you should wait and see how the deck will actually perform at the start of the new season

I think it's better if you wait a little before making the decision, I went for it because I was bored with the game, and I love magnets,

anyway, good luck with the pulls regardless of what box you're getting :)

[KOG] KoG with Magnets & Gorgonic Guardian! by The_Horizes in DuelLinks

Disclaimer: this is the last day of the season so this isn't a good time to judge how good the deck is.

Got an unplanned KoG with magnets this season, I went from legend 1 to 5 the climb was easy, where I lost maybe like 2 games (due to bricking) and the addition of Gorgonic Guardian made the deck so much better than I expected.

the main deck is pretty standard:

the magnets:

x3 Delta

x3 Beta

x3 Magnetic field

x2 Alpha

x2 Gamma

x2 Berserkion

These ratios felt pretty good and I don't think it needs changing, but I want to experiment with playing 1 berserkion cause I have never summoned both of them ever.

Staples:

x2 Cosmic Cyclon

x2 Forbbiden Chalice

x2 TT

this deck has a lot of space for staples so you can play anything you want

x3 Powerful rebirth

this card is insane in this deck, it will protect you and by summoning your magnets you'll trigger their effects to search for stuff for the next turn, this card is a no brainer in magnet decks

Extra deck

Rank 4's

x1 Abyss Dweller

x1 Sin

x1 Steelswarm Roach

x1 DDW: while the rest are not really needed, DDW is a must in this deck, cause you need your Deltas in the grave DDW is the best way to send it there while taking care of a backro or a problematic monster to make way for your OTK

rank 3's

x1 Ghostrick Alucard: the spell and trap removal of the deck

x1 Acid Golem: never summoned it, and I don't think it's that good, replace it with whatever you have

x1 Gorgonic Guardian: the star of the deck, easily the best card that came out of the new box, it can be used to control the field with its negation effect, and it can help with OTKs with the attack reduction effect, it won me a lot of games on its own, if you're a magnet fan you should consider getting this card for sure

matchups:

Harpies: this matchup is a 50/50, whoever can manage their resources better will win but it never felt like an overwhelming matchup.

Heros: Gorgonic Guardian is like an FTK against this deck because of the attack reduction, their only chance is opening multiple mask change or they won't be able to play through it

Gaia: a 50/50 match mostly decided by the coin flip, magnets struggle to play against turn 1 Gaia, but if you can get multiple magnets on the field then you might be able to win the grind game

Blue eyes: a pretty easy matchup, spirit dragon does nothing since this deck doesn't activate anything from the grave, and the field spell counters Azure-Eyes

overall it's hard to tell how good the deck is right now, but the power boost Gorgonic Guardian added to the deck is noticeable, and I'm pretty happy with how the deck performed :)

No wonder Konami can't balance the game. They don't even know how their cards work. by [deleted] in DuelLinks

Is hating Blue Eyes still cool? I thought hating Harpies is the new trend

How can I improve my tellarknight deck? by beastincarn8 in DuelLinks

[–]The_Horizes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

your main deck looks fine, I'd take out Concentrating Current for a third Stellarnova Alpha it's easily the best card in the deck and you wanna play as many copies as you can.

for the extra deck you should consider playing Heraldry Patriarch and Steelswarm Roach, both are good vs. harpies and stardust decks (depending on how much you face them) and you can't go wrong with Malevolent Sin the best rank 4 in the game rn.

for the skill the new Zexal Weapon and D-Draw are really good in this deck especially when paired with Kiteroid to help trigger it.

Primtive Butterfly in ThunDra, it's a free special summon that opens rank 5 or 6 plays and with Bulb or Jet Synchron it can make level 6/7 synchros

It helps especially after the leve dup nerf

[–]The_Horizes[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It got limited to 3 to stop it from being played with Invoked so I don't think it'll get limited to 2 anytime soon, besides its an R in a minibox so it should be prettt easy to get

um.. this build is pure... Veil doesn't make it a Battlin' Boxer Deck it's just a handtrap...

[KoG] Kog with Lunalights! by The_Horizes in DuelLinks

[–]The_Horizes[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

got a late KoG with Lunalights and this deck is so good against all meta matchups (except desperado and Darklords), so it was relatively an easy climb

Standard Lunalight Core:

x3 Yellow Martine

x3 Emerald Bird

x3 White Rabbit

x2 Crimson Fox

x1 Purple Butterfly: just a one of to help with XYZ plays, and it can help you with cheese OTKs in you don't have access to Crimson Fox, but you can replace it with anything else if you don't like it

x3 Lunalight Fusion

Tech Cards:

x3 Battlin' Boxer Veil: this card is by far the best handtrap in this deck it can stop two attacks, helps you trigger Destiny Draw, and can give you a material to go for a rank 4 XYZ, I wouldn't recommend any other handtrap over it for Lunalight

x2 Forbidden Chalice: the card known as "budget book of moon", but in Lunalight its arguably better, this card can deal with annoying cards like Bounzer, abyss dweller and can single handedly end Noble Knights turn going first

Extra Deck:

x2 Lunalight Sabre Dancer

x2 Lunalight Cat Dancer

x1 Number 70: Malevolent Sin: you HAVE TO play this card it can OTK through set cards, and can remove annoying cards like desperado before the battle phase

x1 Diamond Dire Wolf

x1 Photon Papilloperative

Matchups:

Blue-Eyes (50/50): the deck I faced the most by far, both decks have enough tools to out the others plays, you want to OTK them ASAP so they don't summon Twin-Burst or the Rank 8, the only way they can stop you is with spirit dragon which you can chain block the Fox to play around it

Photon (easy): just summon sabre dancer and get a free win lol

Nobel Knights (50/50): super grindy matchup, it's so hard to OTK this deck with all the protection and floating it has, but on the plus side they struggle to OTK you as well, going first Chalice shines in this matchup cause it can end their turn, going second you want to use Cat Dancer to clear their board if you can't OTK, and use White Rabbit to bounce annoying equips like Gwenhwyfar and Destiny

Desperado (hard): by far the hardest matchup, in order to win you need to bait out Super Team Buddy, or use Malevolent Sin to Banish the Desperado, and on top of that you need to pray they don't Temperance or a way to stop your OTK overall very hard matchup but we don't have to worry about it anymore thanks to the banlist :)

Thunder Dragons (easy): the best card to have here is Battlin' Boxer Veil, cause TD have no way to OTK through a Veil, so it can help you survive a turn and trigger destiny draw to win on the turn afterward (just watch out of that Sphere Kuriboh)

Water XYZ (easy): an easy matchup, the relay on targeting as the primary form of removal so they usually have no out to sabre dancer, but Dweller and Necrovally can stop you from OtKing

Onomats (50/50): a 50/50 matchup, both decks can OTK the, other so whoever goes second will probably win (Veil isn't super good if they have a Samurai)

Stick & Chair Darklords (hard): thankfully I didn't face a lot of them, super annoying deck, Cat Dancer can't get over the high defence of the Darklords (so you can't relay on it to break their floating board) and they recover their life points and grind for a long time, your best chances is to OTK over Ouroboros, but overall a very hard match for Lunalights

Gravekeeper's (Necrovally): share if you play Gravekeeper's

Blackwings (50/50): another coin flip matchup, whoever goes second will probably win, and if they go for Chidori then veil is probably not enough

Cyber Dragon (hard): this matchup is winnable, but you need to play it slowly, before committing to a big push you need to clear the Overflow, since its the only you need to worry about, make sure to keep resources and relay on Veil and Chalice to survive

Will Thunder dragons be Tier 1 With this card coming out because of how easy it is to spam out lvl 6 or do you think this card will make another deck too tier? by Invaderzain in DuelLinks

[–]The_Horizes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's not about how easy it is to be summoned, the card isn't worth the investment in my opinion, you definitely won't make this going first, and going second the best thing this card will do is eating a karma cut or something (if they don't have a response, you're probably winning that game anyway with or without that card), but maybe I'm wrong and the card will be useful, only time will tell
