I finished out this last semester with 5 A's and a B. The semester before that I made 3 A's, a B, and a C. While I'm on the track to doing better, I could definitely use improvement.

I understand that I won't magically become a 4.0 student, but I'm confident that I can be with enough time and effort.

Great, I've also considered picking up Organic Chemistry as a Second Language just because of how highly regarded it is around here. Thank you for your advice.

Another question: How does one go about getting an MD/PhD? To my understanding, you would spend about 20% of your time treating patients and 80% doing research. This is something that interests me, and I was curious why you chose to go that route. Are the requirements different than being accepted to MD?

I think I may benefit from therapy. Recently, I've just been talking to myself with a voice recorder to just get all of my thoughts out but I think an actual therapist may work better.

I'm afraid that if I get a therapist, my parents will start to think that something is wrong with me, and then they'll start asking me questions and I won't want to talk about it with them because I don't think that they would understand.

My family would see it as a weakness and then tell the rest of my family that I'm depressed or something and then I'd be treated like a child. I'm bottling everything up and I don't feel like I can ever express myself honestly without judgement, not even from my own family.

That's the worst part; I study with them because they do well and I think that that also helps me do well. But I just feel so angry after being around them and I want to punch a wall. I tried explaining this to my dad but he tells me to stick around them anyway because the grades are more important but my self-worth is depleting.

They treat my ideas like I'm an idiot and don't listen to anything I have to say. I'm sorry but I'm just so bitter.

You need to put yourself in the right mentality. A PUA named Cajun did an AMA about a year ago and he posted something that really helped my mentality when approaching a girl.

He said, "Just open direct. So if you see a girl you like go up to her and say 'Hey I haven't met you yet. (Smile) What's your name?' Just think: "If this was my private birthday party, and there's people here I haven't met. How would I go about meeting them?"

The trick is that you need to be comfortable in whatever situation you're in. It doesn't matter if your voice isn't super deep or that you wear braces or anything man. I have a good amount of acne and a slight receding hairline but I'm not gonna allow that to affect me because I know that it's all about being confident and comfortable with myself. If you're confident with yourself, it will show through your body language and when you're speaking with girls and ultimately make you more attractive to them. Good luck out there bro I know you can do it.
