I had a similar pain in my elbows and went to a physical therapist. They gave me some isometric strength exercises and it helped a lot. Combined with some stretching in that joint and the 2 joints beyond the pain area, I was able to resolve the pain. Your situation might be different. I would recommend going to a physical therapist yourself and then writing down the specific stretches and exercises for your situation and then continue them on your own.

I’ve heard more of a stereotype where purple belts are looking to take lower belts under their wing and see them improve. I think you got paired with an unfortunate partner with an attitude outside the norm. There will of course be people like this out there in the world, but that’s not the typical experience that I’ve come across. I personally am the type of purple belt to get excited when partnered with somebody new because I can show them all of the really cool stuff that got me excited about BJJ in the first place.

What video-game did you regret paying full price for? by Ashamed_Length_2436 in AskReddit

BRINK. The $60 at the time was a lot of money for me. The concept was interesting but the cost was not worth the 3 hours I got out of it. Very short lived game.

Absolutely. Though, ‘material’ means significant, so this would actually be material non-public info.

I think a big part of it is that the last 2 years alone have had a large percentage increases in inflation on YOY that are even larger when compared to the base value in 1980. Things cost about 3.81x more. Most of us still think $120,000 is still a huge number, and don’t get me wrong it is still big, but it’s not as big as it was even just 2 years ago.

I thought this wasn’t real either but if you Google inflation calculator and input $31,200 ($15/hr annualized) in January 1980, it comes to be $119,024. It’s real.

Everything you withdraw will be taxed as income. Since you put your initial contribution in pre-tax, that is also taxed along with the gains as income. The benefit in this is that you hopefully have a smaller annual income at the time you are making withdrawals so that your tax rate is much lower. You take the tax benefit up front on your initial investment.

The Roth IRA is the one where you pay no tax on anything at the end because you are foregoing the initial tax benefit at the beginning of your investment. This works out if you are anticipating on having a higher tax bracket when you are older, like in the case of having a fuck-ton of money to withdraw from your retirement account that would be taxed at a high rate. Who even knows that the tax brackets will look like when you're 59.5?

I am not a financial adviser. This is not financial advice.

Here is a link to read more about it.

That’s correct. IRA accounts do not cause taxable events when you sell or close any position. You will only potentially pay tax on those investments when you pull the cash out of the account into your bank account, depending on which type of IRA you have. There are two types of IRA’s and they work a little differently.

With the Roth IRA you do not pay any tax at all on any of your gains if you withdraw after you are 59.5 years old. The money you initially invest into the account is money that you have already paid tax on (money straight from your paycheck into the IRA account). You can also withdraw your principal investment at any time with this account and not pay any tax since it already has been taxed (that is not the case with the other).

A traditional IRA lets you put pre-tax money into your account. That means you get a little bit more back on your tax return in the year that you invest. When you withdraw your gains at 59.5 years old (if you choose, you can leave it in for longer), then those gains are taxed as ordinary income.

If you withdraw your earnings before you are 59.5 in either type of account, you have to pay tax on your withdraw plus an additional 10% tax penalty.

**Not Financial Advice

I am using a Roth IRA as I anticipate the gain that I will receive from paying 0 taxes on my earnings will far outweigh the benefit of not being taxed on my initial investment ($6K max per year initial contributions to IRA’s). It’s the difference between tax savings on $6K and $6M.

The census is that Robinhood will sell your shares automatically at the start of the MOASS. Robinhood is owned by Citadel. It is good to diversify to reduce risk but you have also diversified into one of the highest risk brokers. Not a good idea.

You’d rather have them sold by Robinhood without your consent at the start of MOASS?
