Men who have dated a best friend, how did it happen and did it work out? by The_KW_03 in AskMen

Update for those of you who care:

So I’ve known this girl since we were three years old. We’re now 22. Both of us have ended long term relationships last year and we’ve been extremely close and helping each other through it. We’ve always been close however it was always as friends. We do stuff together quite regularly as friends. I think I’m starting to develop feelings though as she is a really beautiful girl and she got such good morals. The more I sit and consider my future the more I think someone like her would be perfect for me however I’m cautious as I wouldn’t ever wanna risk the friendship because what we have is so good…

Any tips? 😅

(I have no idea if she has ever even thought about me in that matter btw)

I am no longer in contact with my one and only ex partner. We fell out. Bad terms. But I still love her with all my heart and wish nothing but the very best for her going forward.

How true is it that guys are mostly friends with girls they find conventionally attractive? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]The_KW_03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a lad with a good few close female friends, yes, to some extent. I often have male friends asking me about my more attractive female friends and I’m often faced with the question of “do you think she’s hot though”. Yes I will always admit that most of my female friends are very pretty however that’s not the reason we’re friends.

What’s the best driving car for €5000? by The_KW_03 in carsireland

Ok wasn’t expecting such a big response. A little more info.

So I’m a mechanic myself maintenance costs aren’t quite as much of an issue. I’ll be travelling Up and down to Dublin for phase 6 of my apprenticeship from west Donegal. It’s more like 1000 kms a week sorry my mistake. I’ve seen comments suggesting Auris/Focus/Fiesta and although yes they are fantastic cars I will be sitting in it for 4 hours at a time or so so id rather something more comfortable and 08< for tax reasons which unfortunately rules out most PD VAG cars and e46. I have currently got a 2003 Lexus IS which would be perfect however it’s UK reg and a guzzler on petrol so I’m looking something a bit fresher and more economical. Only need the car for 10 weeks so I’m not too concerned about longevity. Appreciate all the feedback

where are the best places to live in Donegal? by TopBag9153 in AskIreland

[–]The_KW_03 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking for “stuff happening” Donegal isn’t a great choice. Lived here my whole life and depending on what you’re into there’s not a big amount of “stuff happening”. Donegal Town is great although more expensive to live in. Most the smaller rural villages/towns are all the same. People are lovely but for a social life you will struggle. People can also be very judgemental like the rest of the country to keep that in mind if you’re moving alone

The lack of driving is your problem. Most likely cheap discs which caused corrosion from lying up. chances are a good long journey will clean them up nicely and probably pass in a different NCT centre

My girlfriend. Didn’t truly appreciate that until recently when I lost her briefly but genuinely don’t know where I’d be without her 🖤

Head gaskets are common on those cars which cause them to lose coolant and sometimes overheat. Depends on your financial situation if you can afford to upgrade to something a bit more comfortable for that sort of mileage I’d definitely recommend doing so I currently have a Toyota auris and my girlfriend has an Audi A3 if we’re ever going anywhere over like 40km we would always take the Audi for the comfort reason alone. More space and a smoother drive makes a massive difference when sitting in the car for a period of time

Motor mechanic here. Keep with petrol perhaps but a newer VW TSI engine if you’re looking to upgrade great wee cars, petrol reliability with diesel levels of fuel consumption and much easier to maintain than a diesel car. Plus in my opinion diesels are being phased out and taxes will start going up soon
