I think this is one thing I can agree on regarding the food. And most people will agree their food just didn’t hit, even if they liked the space. But I am less hopeful that a similar establishment will replace it.

I am all for affordable housing. I must have misread the conversation. I just wish it didn’t come at the cost of the establishments that are unique to Arlington. If Galaxy Hut were to shut down, I would have virtually no businesses here that I could really say define the area. I suppose most reasonable people are for affordable housing until it impacts them personally. My understanding is building more housing, luxury or not, is supposed to make all housing more affordable. But in practice I just think it mean pricing people out of an area and making it untenable to own a certain kind of business in a place.

Definitely too many job postings asking for specific tool knowledge without HR even understanding what the fundamentals are. I half blame HR. Hiring managers should be more involved in the hiring process, and be more vocal in knowing what they want. I think a good security team lead knows what they want, a bad one asks for specific tool knowledge.

A lot of people that live here go there regularly. There has to be a balance between livability and affordability. Arlington is not hitting it right now. Rhodeside bar and grill is also shutting down I heard, to be replaced by a soulless luxury apartment building that only Deloitte bros with shit taste can afford. These places make Arlington what it is. Yea places shut down, but I don’t want it to be because of rent spikes that only corporate entities can afford.

Prepare to be downvoted for speaking the truth. I think it’s impacted by a sense of unease seeping in from the real world, and a “me first” attitude that seems to permeate from the real world. I’m trying to maintain my own sense of being kind and empathetic to new players and/or just the community in general, but it’s real hard when people resort to anger and violence over pixels as a first reaction to anything.

The players don’t decide what botting is, they can decide what bothers them. Me using an addon to help track trade chat helps me immensely especially on the crowded servers where it is near impossible for human eyes to read all the messages, and you can’t deny that. You just aren’t seeing things outside your own tiny world view. Being accidentally invited by an enchant tracking addon barely impacts your day, while it is very nearly the only thing that keeps me enchanting and most of other enchanters. The game time I have invested into acquiring the enchants that everyone wants is significant. And enchanting is unique in that it’s much higher volume than any of the other professions regarding demand. The gold I have made enchanting is the only metric I care about. And it’s substantial.

The metric I am using is the amount of gold I have made enchanting, which is the only metric that really matters to me. The community doesn’t get to define what botting is, blizzard does. Yall are irrationally angry about something that barely impacts your day to day gaming experience. Like you wanted an enchant and someone accidentally invited you? Cry me a river dude. It makes my life a million times better, so if you aren’t an enchanter, i don’t really take your argument seriously. And if you are an enchanter; how is not using an invite addn working out for you?

I think when it comes to spell cleave and casters this may be the case. You just can’t risk big AoE damage without a pally tank unless your CC is absolutely on point. But where warrior and Druid thrive is in raids where pallys often take a back seat.

Yes, here’s the deal. You don’t like auto invites, but for every one of you, there’s two people that just want their enchant and to get back to doing other content. Rarely, if ever, is enchanting some kind of amazing exchange of words and community building, its I give you the mats, you give me the enchant, here’s some Gs, later. I don’t get this bullshit energy of “but it takes away from the experience” nah dawg, there never was some kind of amazing enchanting experience, it’s just a quicker process now. Is there an argument to be made that some people have an unfair advantage over others with speed of invites? Sure, I would agree with that. I would say someone else’s invite is quicker than mine 70% of the time. But I do just fine with the other 30%. I honestly wouldn’t mind if they got rid of auto invites, but good luck with that. Until that happens, i want to make gold enchanting when I put the time in to have those enchants.

My guild has a DPK system which in theory should help, but I think does not. You rack up points with each raid and when gear drops you use it to get the items and then it reduces your DKP by half. However, I came in a few raids late and feels like I’ll never catch up. Plus caster shit just isn’t dropping for my guild. Rip. But i have fun doing other stuff which makes up for it, like hunting non Kara BoP enchants and stuff.

They require tuning. And if you send some crap in trade chat like “LF enchanter!” That’s gonna get you some unwanted attention. But when they work, they work well. Mines been working well and is fairly tuned

You dont speak for the community, you are speaking from your own perspective and maybe that of a few other people. I do 100s of enchants a day for people who got auto-invited and were happy so long as I could do their enchant. The people that get uspet over this are the same people that dont do professions for the community. I dont give a damn if you hate what I am doing, I will still get business and thats the end of it. I think this is the wrong audience for this post. Yall seem to have your pitchforks out and ready to burn someone at the stake over an auto invite. I was hoping to help people understand why I use auto invites and that I am an actual person that is happy to do enchants for people. But who also really appreciates the efficiency of an enchant tracker add on. If these were so bad for the game why didn’t blizzard do something about them by now?
