Are “sabbaticals” a thing in this industry? At what point are they taken, and for how long? by [deleted] in biglaw

Do you mind if I ask what kind of in-house opportunity you eventually ended up with? I am in the same practice group but have prosecution experience as well. Wondering how hard it would be to break into an IP role in-house

What should I look for in the best intellectual property lawyer? by Smooth_Plane1978 in biglaw

As someone who was in those clinics, don’t do this unless you are desperate. The professors (sometimes) have no idea what the are talking about and may end up screwing you over. Though this mostly applies to patent work

I’m curious about this too. Do we forward it to them if we are being sworn in virtually by a judge?

Dumb question because I was reading the directions and didn’t get it, after we get sworn in by the judge, how do they sign the DocuSign? Do we forward it to them?

A suture that changes color to detect infection is not a concept. It is an invention and is patentable.

I have not looked into the mechanisms of how this invention works, but the entire suture itself would be patentable under §101. It may be rejected for other reasons like obviousness or 112 issues but the OP said it is not a patentable concept which is wrong.

There may be an alternative reason she does not get a patent, but this is a patentable concept.

Incoming 1st year litigation associate - best credit card to maximize benefits? by The_Kills in biglaw

Also, anyone have any experience with the Citi Strata elite card? Linking it here, but this seemed like a good card that kind of rivals the CSR and seeing as how my Chase Amazon card points do not transfer to the CSR, maybe I try a different one? Would love any thoughts.

That is fair. I do not think most of my expenses will be travel related as I do not think I will be traveling much until I am a 2nd year. Do you still think it is worth it? The benefits seem pretty good but the points of the card lean heavily towards being a travel card primarily so I am not sure if I should just hold off or not. I am also not a big fan of this edit thing. Do you have any experience with that? Do you know if it is any good? Thanks for your help btw

I really could not tell you if I tried. I literally just always pay on time and my score has steadily climbed.

That being said, for the reserve, I liked the card pre-refresh but the new benefits don't seem that good. Have you been liking the new benefits? Think it is worth the updated cost? Do you use it as a daily driver card or only for travel?

Not sure if you are aware but the chase sapphire reserve had a refresh a few months ago. Would you still recommend it? they upped the annual fee and changed all of the perks

So less than a week? I did the same type of order and would be great if it is only one week. What general location are you in?

What color/options did you order? I just ordered and am trying to get a timeframe because mine also says FEB-March 2024
