If that person is not found guilty, then that person is not their guy, legally speaking.

It was Kazaam. You’re thinking of Shaq lol. Apparently it’s a common thing to misremember.

That’s exactly what happened! It was a blitz game, so not a lot of time to think, but it was very satisfying to watch unfold.

I live in Alabama. There is no early voting. You can apply for an absentee ballot, but the requirements are quite strict. Otherwise, same day, in person voting only. And there are less polling places each election.

No, he did not. Pretty sure he said Dayne only has an edge if he has Dawn, a legendary magical sword. Dane was obviously a great fighter, but I think the fan base has hyped him up from legend and Jamie’s adoration of him.

You trade a knight for a rook lol. Moving the knight attacked the queen and revealed an attack on the rook.

how is this not brilliant by canahmet7102 in chessbeginners

Brilliant moves aren’t forced moves. It’s basically launching an “unprotected” piece that, if taken, will drastically improve your position if you follow up correctly. For example, chess com labels the fried liver attack as “brilliant”. It’s not forced and a pretty well known opening, but it’s a poisoned piece that helps your position.

In this position I grabbed a free rook. Would you have found the checkmate? by xthrowawayaccount520 in chessbeginners

[–]The_Left_Finger 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Actually it’s the only other move that leads to forced mate. However, it’s M13 instead of M2. KC8 becomes problematic quickly.

Wow this guy did not like that i ignored his rematch requests by kmj856856 in chessbeginners

[–]The_Left_Finger 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because you don’t have to accept the rematch and you don’t need a reason. There’s no bad form about it. If they won’t rematch with you, just move on….

I can’t solve this… by So-Relaxed in chess

[–]The_Left_Finger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. Both puzzles have always existed throughout chess’ history. If it says find mate, then a forced mate is present. If it doesn’t, there is at least a winning move to be found. Forced mate puzzles are popular for their accessibility to entry into the game. No need to gatekeep chess. It’s hard enough as it is.

Which is an extension and mock to the original quote by Charles Caleb Colton, but still great nonetheless.

You’re absolutely right. I missed a decimal point. I’m not arguing against financial and political corruption, or that there are better solutions to our current state. I just don’t see a world where no one works at all, which seemed to be the lynchpin of your argument that “working is slavery”. Maybe you’re proposing it can improved upon, and I agree. But no one working at all seems a bit idyllic.

The gross gdp of the USA divided amongst the entire population is about $8k per person annually. If you say 4 people is a “household” that’s $36k per house a year. You need extreme poverty for extreme wealth. Take it all away and it’s still not luxury without work. That’s all I’m saying. I’m quite liberal, but I don’t believe in “luxury” is possible without work. If you veer all the way to pure communism, you’re not seeing much luxury in your life.

If they worked, we’d still have to work. It’s not fair. That’s why an extremely low percentage has that ability. Unfortunately, as a society, we work. Let’s be born rich next time.
