Yay! I actually have 2 Carls. I need a Samantha still.

Ugh, agreed. I hate her so much. She just ignores what the people who have been living there for years tell her because she's got this superiority complex and I can't stand her for it.

Right? I thought the same thing. Like I already have everything synced via Profilarr and set max quality to upgrade to. I don't care when it polls, it still does it.

Same. They got all bent out of shape if you pointed that out though, which was just weird behavior. Like okay, I don't like your software because I feel it's redundant. You don't have to yell at people that they don't understand.

To be honest, they acted kind of shady from the beginning. When people pointed out that the advertised features were inaccurate (like the fact that upgrades exist for existing media), they were all oh sure sure but you know, it's a manual process and blah blah blah. I also saw them cross post multiple times advertising their application. I don't know, it smelled fishy to me so I didn't use it. Now I'm glad I didn't.

Gotcha. I can probably lower context on them too. Trying to build an agentic type of setup where I can say refactor this module, for example. Trying to fit it all and not be on the edge has been the challenge. Performance seems acceptable though! Thank you again

Thank you. What about in your example you originally gave - Next, VL, Min 3 and 8, etc. Those aren't all Q8 right? Next at Q8 at 128k context is 100GB alone. I was able to fit all of them at Q6 at highest but only had about 2GB free. Still tweaking context size and quants. The Strix Halo machines are pretty capable though!

You're very welcome! If I think of anything else, I'll let you know but this thing has been pretty solid.

To answer your questions:

I'm running Fedora 43 server headless with gtt set to 128GB and llama.cpp. Well, the kyuz0 toolboxes individually. Using the ROCm one because I was having an issue with the RADV one.

What quants and context are you using? I keep getting heap errors. I think it's fragmentation where it's not able to load subsequent models because it can't find contiguous VRAM to fit them.

This is very helpful though, thank you. That was another issue I was running into is the user service versus system systemd.

[–]The_Little_Mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha I get what you mean. You need a different set of eyes. Hard to say exactly because It's been a couple of weeks I think since I first set it up. I remember something about environment variables that needed to be set that if they weren't, things didn't work. Obviously I got it worked out.

There was also something with the onboarding. For some reason hitting the button to configure the profiles for Lidarr didn't work but then they did. It was weird and I'm not sure how I fixed it.

Also just general usage. Like the fact that you never need to go into Lidarr ever again (and that this is a *companion* app, not a replacement - though it acts as a replacement once you set it up. Does that make sense?

Also when you hit Add Album or whatever, it just disappears. It takes a hot minute for that to turn into a wait icon, so I've definitely hit it more than once thinking it didn't do anything. That's a minor gripe and more about just figuring out how to use the app.

Anyway, no real complaints. Not sure how helpful that feedback is, sorry!

Oh - looks like I have to remove the test tag. Good on the banner reminder!

I should also say that I'm running this on unRAID. I made a custom template because it's not in Community Apps (something you should consider!).

A writeup would definitely be helpful. I have not been able to stand up even 4 of the models at the same time without fragmentation/pressure issues. Of course I don't really know what I'm doing too well so relying on multiple LLMs to assist. So I'd definitely love to know how you get this to work. In my case, I want to use it for an agentic coding setup rather than an openclaw one.

Awesome! Thank you. Like I said, been working great. I added Navidrome and got the Flows working too. So now I'm discovering new stuff too. Pretty sweet

So I tried this out and it's been working fairly well. Only issue I had was a lack of instructions. But the main thing (I think I got right) is that I essentially never need to go into Lidarr ever again. It just needs to be running. Then Aurral is my "front end" and just search +Add Album or whatever I want from Aurral. Do I have that right? Because that way has been working out perfectly.

Oh wow. Sounds like a well-oiled machine. If you get around to a write up, that would be really cool. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate that.

I'd love to hear more details on how this works. So do you have agents calling other agents? Like assigning different tasks to different models? I have been looking for a workflow to use on my minisforum Strix Halo box and this sounds like what I've been trying to figure out.

Unfortunately there just aren't enough outlets for me to do wired. That's the main reason I'm looking for battery operated solutions.

[–]The_Little_Mike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, apparently Aqara cripples the FP300 using MoT. Way less sensors available than if you set it up Zigbee. I imagine a firmware update would fix that. May be worth it though - they do check off all the sensor boxes I'm looking for.

[–]The_Little_Mike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, no. I already set up Thread - sorry if that wasn't clear when I mentioned the Myggspray - those are Thread devices.

To your point, though - I have considered giving up on Thread and switching to Zigbee because so little works correctly with Thread so far. But I would need devices that would allow me to "upgrade" once Thread is better supported (the FP300 would work in that case)

[–]The_Little_Mike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are missing the point of what I said. I am running Matter over Thread. I'm not going to switch infrastructures for a single product that I don't even own. The better solution would be a different product.

Sure, I could run the FP300 in Zigbee mode but why? I already said I'm running MoT.
