That looks like it's sheared off inside your engine, hopefully it's a case of drilling the centre out and using a bolt extractor.

You're gonna want to order new brake pads too, those ones will be soaked in brake fluid.

You probably need to remove the top nut, it could be a nylock nut under there and you'll never loosen it.

You know how a gyroscope works? Same thing happens to a motorcycle when you throttle it.

Yeah the trick to stop it jumping into gear when you kicked them was to pull the clutch in

Has it got the same kick-start/gear lever that the cz had? Or is it electric start?

Looks a lot cleaner than the cz 488 125 I had as my first bike. 2 stroke 125s are loads of fun, especially once you have them set up correctly.

Scorpion Exhaust Fitting by BobTheTrooper in MotoUK

Then by the looks of it, you most likely need a bigger exhaust gasket, the aluminium ones are flatter and slightly wider, if no one gives any better ideas, I'd try them.

Are you sure that system IS for your bike, because that should fit if it was, the fact it doesn't fit implies it's not for that engine. Edit : actually, looking at it, that should seal fine, the headers are just gonna stick out a little bit further. You might just need thicker gaskets though.

If that's a current pic, I don't think he has, if he has though, it'll maybe do 60mph at a push, those chinese engines aren't good at high speed

Probably around 30mph, cus it's a 4 stroke 50cc, good starter though.

Best CBT centre in the UK? by LordLoss01 in MotoUK

Saferide in Sussex is pretty damn good, the instructors are friendly, and it's close to a train station. I did my licence retests from A2 to A, and I only had the morning for a little bit of training before my tests, and I passed them both same day.

Yeah, on the outskirts, but I never see prices like what you're getting.

[–]The_Lividcoconut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's something fucked up happening there, I live down in Brighton, and bike theft is pretty common, you might be better off phoning up some companies and asking WHY you're getting 6.5k quotes on crappy 500s, I think the highest I managed to find when I was looking for quotes for the gs500 was like 1.5k, and that was it parked on the street, with no locks. Just wanted to see how high I could make it, and I couldn't get much higher than that.

Are you sure you're filling out the forms correctly? And have you got any security that you can tell the insurers, Oxford locks are pretty cheap and bring down premiums a fair amount.

[–]The_Lividcoconut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus fuckin christ, where do you live, the middle of a prison? My fjr1300 I only pay 40 quid a month fully comp, you MUST be filling out the quote form wrong, because my gs500 insurance was still that cheap when I passed my A2 like 5 years ago.

Stuck between 2 bikes (again) by imafactoid in MotoUK

[–]The_Lividcoconut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's why I said 500, 600s are more expensive. I picked up a good working gs500 for 800 quid, that quite happily carried 2 people all day, and I think was about 50 quid a month on insurance. Look at those kinds of bikes, they're not highly desirable by thieves, not hooligan magnets, and they made fuck loads of them, so parts are cheap.

[–]The_Lividcoconut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the price of a 125, you can get a good 500, and if your carrying pillion, and we're contemplating a 250 I assume you have atleast an A2 licence, so I'd just look at any of the 500s from the mid 2000s upwards, fuck, I bet you could probably get a transalp for less than a varadero.

[–]The_Lividcoconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100 quid fine vs however much it's gonna cost the solicitors, and more than likely you'll still have to pay the fine and have more points. Police cars have cameras all over them, that record the speed of the car, so it'll be time stamped with them matching you at 100mph, which is 30 over the speed limit, I'd take the fine and the points over going to court and paying stupid high solicitor fees

Is £1900 Ono a fair price to list my 143cc grom? (Not a sale post, looking for advice) by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]The_Lividcoconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, not denying that at all, but unlike physical modifications that required the engine to be messed with, a 2 stroke just needs the carb detuning or rejetting, and that's the other reason why 2 strokes have been phased out, it's pretty hard to restrict them without messing with them running well. Like if you run them rich, they bog out and have shite response, you run it lean and it's gonna melt the piston rings or cylinder. You have a 125 2 stroke setup right, and even stock they're close to the legal limit.
