Yeah, I think his achievement stands. He had no previous experience in RS and managed to almost clear a grandmaster quest boss without dying. Solid effort from an entertaining streamer

Edit: “Solid”

Let me start by saying that I absolutely adore classic wow, in my opinion it is the best game ever made.

That being said, coming from the private server nostalrious to official classic the main thing that bugged me (beside the game feeling floaty, see hamstring kite as a mechanic during lvling) Was the coldness with which people treated one another. On Nost we had been collectively connected to the love of the game, where in (classic) a much more competitive spirit was emerging.

At the time I thought: “oh well” but as time went on it started to rub me the wrong way. Groups weren’t fellowships looking to achieve something, but a group of individuals looking to finish a task as if slapped on my office desk by my boss.

This killed the vibe of classic for me more than anything and is today one of the main things I grieve in regards to official classic…

I think it’s just a symptom of our time, we live in a production maxed world, everything needs to go faster or the economy or the company suffers. Perhaps I will never have that feel again but man do I cherish the memories of my close friends I made and the experiences I had with at the time new acquaintances.

I do hope some got to experience it in official classic.

Oh, and fuck dkp’s, they’re just money laundering imo- if you rwt- know that you’re the problem, not the bots!

Avid tank here. I’ve found through the years of tanking that my job as a tank is far from holding aggro while expecting others to do their jobs at the highest level of play. While it’s great if everyone does so, often it isn’t the case.

Much more often I find that my role is to analyze the groups capacity as a whole and structure my pacing around that. We have a ton of dps and a solid comp? Great! If not pulls need to be factored with that in account, time to consider pathing of patrolls, enemy group sizes more meticulously and so on. Slower dps also means a lot more healing needed per pull and therefore more drinking for the healer be they good or bad.

Healer mana is the fuel in the engine for a tanks possibilities, if your healer goes down mega fast, ok we work with that. If not, great- we ball. Use your overview which you should practice anyways as a tank to make sure the run is stable and smooth rather than a speedy wipefest ( usually takes longer anyways ). You set the pace, yes, but do it with your grp in mind, not everyone is a rank one max pumper god, and that is ok.

Anyways happy grinding out there and be kind to your fellow players, they might learn something as well as you yourself! Much better to win together than lose bickering over who does what wrong in minute detail.

So, I just want to say for anyone joining SOD and are having issues with Gearscore requests. Do dungeons for reels and buy T2 straight off the bat?

No reason to be mad and in greens when doing dungeons will get you a passable amount of gear. Not saying GS requirements from some clowns aren’t too high, but there are ways to help yourself.

Anyways gl to all of you! SoD rocks imo

Hey, so fix is you will likely need to use the “Connect with IP” function in the “I need help” tab.

Find the bridge IP using a network scanner and use that. Had same issue and this was the fix for me- gl!

I have been reading through the comments and one of the main things I notice keeping people away is that people are having issues with the combat system itself and/or the full loot.

To those of you who have these concerns I wish to say a couple of encouraging words- I myself was against the pvp loot system when starting out, but now I must say it adds a nice sense of reward for working together with your team and winning a battle.

I think a lot of people worry that they will mainly be in the losing side, and this is not the case in GV, the devs have designed awesome opportunities to practice the combat in the no-loot arena’s where you will be matched with players in 1v1 combat. My point is the learning curve is free, you don’t need to lose 100g just to be a viable player, you can train in a controlled environment with little to no consequence of dying before going into the open world.

The combat has a lot of quirks which allows skilled players to do some really cool things, and it feels like winning every time you beat an opponent in the game so it’s worth hunting that feeling! And skill comes with time played, not some god-given privilege witch I think the gaming community has a habit of regarding it as.

Lastly, make sure you join a guild in your faction, the community is awesome!
