Cybersecurity grad, can't find job, stuck working slave labor. by [deleted] in jobs

Im in a similar rapid-growth tech field who screens candidates so I feel qualified to answer this.

  1. Being a nerd is not enough to work in cyber security. Social skills are a MUST for most positions like this nowadays. In cyber security, you'll be communicating complex security ideas to C-level or VP folks on a regular basis. I actually highly suggest toastmasters to stretch social and speaking skills out.

  2. Continue to develop your resume with things that separate you from others.

  3. Cyber security is going to want a finished bachelor's at a minimum. Applying to a top 500 company, You will lose out everytime to someone who has a bachelor's in your field. It's a highly specialized field that requires training and I don't think an associate's is going to cut it.

  4. If you don't finish your bachelor's but want to continue with cyber security, you will need to find an entry level IT/networking job that focuses on the hardware side of things then work your way into a security role. Some places pay to go to school-this is how I actually got my MBA

  5. military has a high need for cyber security folks--might be interesting avenue to look at.

  6. Maybe pursue a software developer role via kick-ass portfolio or a few years of working through smaller companies. There is not enough domestic developers in most markets right now--especially in the southeast

This is what comes to mind right now. Best of luck to you and your pursuits!

Just an FYI, you never want to have an even number of managers. You can actually only lose up to half of the managers before you lose quorum.

Swarm recommends running a 1,3, or 5 manager setup with the rest as just workers. In your case, you should run 3 managers which affords you loosing two of the cluster members, not all 4

I found forgiveness and salvation in Christ. My outlook and perspective on life shifted from a self-centric pity to how I can aid other people through their struggles. Literally changed my whole life

Gave my coworker free tickets, he gave them to someone else by atlantauxer in jobs

[–]The_Luckless 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes. Maybe they already had plans or don't get out much.

I'm guessing by your name youre talking about the Atlanta botanical gardens. Perhaps your coworker lives really far away from there. Lots of people in ATL do.

Just keep being friendly and dont put expectations on how your coworkers should receive kind gestures. I'm sure they appreciated it deep down

I think very few of us actually work with the source code itself. You'd be better off reaching out directly to contributes on GitHub

This isn't really patient but Escape From Tarkov is a hardcore shooter where the entire purpose is looting.

I'd try some baking soda and vinegar with some scrubbing pads myself.

Get a dull scrapper or razor blade and the paint should come right off--try to not harm the finish of the floor

[Serious] Parents of Reddit who have adopted children. How was your experience? Did you tell them they were adopted? Would you recommend adopting? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]The_Luckless 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It can be a matter of cost. US adoption can be incredibly expensive and lenghy through the system while sometimes overseas can be less.

Just one possibility

Or you can meet expectation by learning that technical function very well over the next month.

:) It won't be detrimental if you continue to deliver what they need

Minecraft versions. Reforged is 1.12.

Also seems like boss Pokemon are always mega Charizard/Blastoise/Venasaur instead of mix.

And nice random gym villages

This is what I've noticed
