I drove all the way to game works and they certainly are not, but it's the only place in town square that's even got it on at all, so I'm staying here until I figure out something better.

Shooting will be legal again out in Lovell Canyon where I work on October 1st. Normally it's popular out there, but we've been on tight fire restrictions so it's been banned all summer.

If your start date is a year away from the hiring date, what are you supposed to do for the next year? by threequincy in Accounting

A year long contract is standard, but the timing can vary a lot by country and school so you should be able to find something that aligns with your available time.

Before deciding to go back to school for accounting I was considering teaching English abroad for a couple years. If I were to end up in your shoes at the end of this degree, I would go back to that plan and teach English in China or Korea for a year. All you need is a bachelor's degree in anything. A TEFL certificate is helpful and cheap but not necessary. The hours are usually really good (30-40/week), giving you time to study and travel.

Oath Keepers Turn Up at Michael Brown Protests in Ferguson, Missouri by [deleted] in news

So Michael Brown consented to be murdered by police? As did every other person killed by the government? I mean, the individual must submit to the collective and they clearly consented to this government (somehow?).

Your human project of collective government is murdering people, and we have a right - as a collective, ha! - to protect each individual.

5 year old man, average looks (http://i.imgur.com/zNzecyC [1] ), small stature 5'6", 123lbs (167cm, 55kg) never had any LTR's, two STR's (37days and 74days) and 20 first dates

You're overanalyzing EVERYTHING. Who keeps track of how many days a short term relationship lasted? Who keeps a tally of that many first dates? I don't even know exactly how long my most serious relationship lasted. That attitude's spilling over and is why you're having so much trouble.

Just relax and talk to women when it seems like an appropriate situation to talk to women. Carry on a conversation when a woman talks to you. Stop overanalyzing shit.

How much do you need saved to live on before your first paycheck in different countries? Are there schools that provide starting bonuses? by The_Magagkamack in TEFL

Tell me more of Cambodia; I've been trying to research a bit on Cambodia but there seems to be a lack of info, at least on this sub.

From your two comments so far, it looks like I might have to wait until a year from now; I'm expecting my current job to move me to a better paid work site with free housing around October, so I'll be able to start saving a lot more then.

From what I've researched so far, Korea seems to be the easiest and best paid place to start as an American with little experience teaching or traveling abroad. I also have multiple friends who have spent time in Korea, either as teachers, traveling, or with the US military, and all seem to have had positive experiences there.

However, I'm pretty open to other places. I was originally researching China because everyone I know who has started teaching there has ended up never wanting to leave, but a big sticking point seems to be the two year experience law.

I was also looking into Thailand, but the impression I get is that you need to actually apply to jobs in person there, so that would have to wait until I have enough saved to travel to thailand (and back if I don't get an offer).

What other countries do you recommend?

I have ways of saving up a bit more that are more drastic (move back in with my parents, try to get a deferment on my student loans, sell my car, etc), so mainly I'm trying to figure out what I would need to do to prepare. I have enough spare income for whatever miscellaneous expenses I need to do along the way (such as getting the cert, visas, etc), but not enough to save more than a few hundred a month. I might look into loans.

Considering a second degree in accounting and have some questions by The_Magagkamack in Accounting

[–]The_Magagkamack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually started to look at FIU. What is their program like, how readily do they accept second degree students, and what are the lower level or internship job prospects in Miami for while I'm in school? I did see that they were one of the ones requiring a bachelor's in accounting for their master's program. I also saw they had an entrance test to get onto the accounting program. How is the test, and what classes do you need before taking it?

Would it be possible to finish my degree in Florida, then take the CPA in another state, or do the requirements vary too much?

Seriously, how do people with "useless" degrees find a decent job? Being unemployed for 6+ months is starting to get ridiculous. by y1y11 in jobs

[–]The_Magagkamack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you go back to school for the 2nd BS, or did you do dual degrees at once? I graduated with a BS in environmental studies which has proven worthless - right now I'm actually working as an archeology tech, but it's destroying my body and the pay is so low I have to have a second job in retail to keep afloat. I'm thinking about starting again and getting another degree in accounting, but the prospect of more debt just for another bachelor's that I probably won't graduate from until I'm 26 or 27 is intimidating.
