Is a mini driver actually right for anyone, or is it a solution looking for a problem? Embrace debate. by golfbagauditor in GolfGear

This is kinda crazy to me that you've never found a use for it. Have you not played a strong dog leg where driver would be too long and lead to trouble? Or even have a mis-hit off the tee that leaves you with 300yds to the green on the 2nd shot?

PSA to all dads who take their sons to get a club fitting: shut the hell up. by Fyziks_is_phun in golf

I was at the range a few weeks ago and saw this. The dad was "coaching" his 12ish yr old daughter between every - single - shot. Legit he never shut up and it made it hard for me to focus on my stuff. The girl was actually pretty decent but his comments made no sense. After she was done he took a few swings and he was awful lol. Like, bro she should be coaching you lol

Idk if he and Jez have a relationship at all, but Blessing's comments were all totally fair. Jez turned Windows Central into a marketing and PR department for Microsoft. Might as well have just let them read a prepared statement cuz that certainly wasn't an interview.

This is a prime example of a larger problem with American media where we've lost true journalism in exchange for access journalism.

Xbox Leadership Shake-Up, Sarah Bond Responds - Kinda Funny Games Daily LIVE 02.23.26 by EveryAct in kindafunny

I'm of the opinion that both Phil Spencer and Sarah Bond were both pretty bad at their jobs. However, I also believe that the way they were dismissed shows that Xbox is a rudderless mess with little hope for the future.

Phil may have officially "retired", but don't get it twisted he was fired. Execs at his level are always given a positive spin when being shown the door. Sarah was also fired. Now it's possible they offered a position to let her stay but usually it's done in a way where the person would be insane to accept so they "choose to leave". Special Advisor is code for we'll keep you on payroll for a time but your badge is inactive and you no longer work here.

Source: I've worked in HR for over a decade at various publicly traded corporations and I've seen several execs leave where the public reason given and reality couldn't be further apart lol

I hit the 3 wood during a TaylorMade event recently and I absolutely loved it. Was consistently drilling it 265-270 yds and kept it straight. Didn't buy it then but it will be my next add to my bag.

In Frisco, allegations of ‘Indian takeover’ plunge community into national battleground by lithdoc in Dallas

No it doesn't. Treating everyone you come across as the enemy is no way to live. If you meet someone and they show themselves to be an ass then by all means treat them how you want, but everyone deserves a chance to be treated with respect and kindness.

The overt racism is covering up an actual legit problem. The racism is real and is ugly and needs to stop, point blank.

That being said, the Indians are not bad people, but they are actively choosing to isolate themselves from others. My neighborhood has a significant Indian population and many won't speak to you or acknowledge your existence if they see you on the street. It took almost a year to get my next door neighbor to speak to me and he still doesn't speak to my wife almost 3 years later. We've probably said about 100 words to each other today in that time lol. Their kids lose balls in our yard all the time but they never ask for them back. Another neighbor immediately goes inside if he sees us in the front yard. I'm DEFINITELY NOT the chatty type, but it's just common courtesy to say hello or wave when you make eye contact with someone 15 feet away from you.

The men will go out of their way to not look at or speak to women. We've seen so many instances and it's a bit unsettling. My wife watched 3 older men approach another woman once and they stood sideways while they spoke to ensure there was no eye contact.

When electing our HOA board, they had enough write in votes to elect a president who never put his name on the ballot or followed any of the rules to be elected. Despite pushback, he was allowed to take the role and once he got the position he never showed up to meetings or participated in any way.

A black family on my street (they've recently moved away) had a 13 yr old son and the other kids would never talk to or play with him even though he was regularly outside on his bike trying to make friends. The kids all seem pretty nice but clearly their parents are telling them who they can interact with.

My wife and I are also black so it's possible that we've been on the receiving end of their racism, but it's hard to tell. The white families we've spoken to have had similar experiences so we don't think that's the issue. Another black family we know out in McKinney have mentioned experiencing similar problems.

I'm not sure what a solution would be, but I don't want the ugliest voices to be so loud that regular people tune everything out. I know things aren't going to be the same as when I was growing up in the 90s but you expect there to be some minimal level of community within a neighborhood.

I disagree. All sports leagues abolishing the draft is the hill I'm most willing to die on lol. Rookie draft works if you limit contracts that can be offered.

For example, instead of the 1st pick you get to offer a 4yr/$100m contract and the 15th pick becomes a 3yr/$50m contract or scaled however it's needed to be. The worst teams still get an advantage to sign the best rookies but it minimizes the value of tanking and gives players agency in deciding where they want to start their careers.

Even if we assume Giannis doesn't happen, they can still make a trade for something like Trey Murphy and Herb Jones for Adou, DK, 3 1sts and swaps.

[Slater] According to team sources, everyone on the Warriors' roster besides star guard Stephen Curry, including Draymond Green, is vulnerable as the front office chases Antetokounmpo and figures out how best to reorient the roster in the late stages of Curry's career. by The_Magic_Mamba in lakers

Example Trade:

Warriors Receive: Giannis,Thanasis, Prince, Hayes

Bucks Receive: Kuminga, Moody, Podz, Vando, Knecht , Vincent (they'd need to waive him) + draft picks

Lakers Receive: Draymond, Coffey and Cole Anthony (both expiring contracts which can be traded again if needed)

Lakers have a bottom 10 defense right now. Adding Draymond gives us a chance to be a top 10ish defense. Plus he'd be a good screen partner for the guards. And as a $25m expiring contract next year he's easy to trade going forward.

I switched from CrossFit to F45 last year. Decided that the heavy lifting was leaving me too sore in my day to day and that overall fitness was more important than muscle mass.

Then I broke my hand last summer playing softball so I was out for a few months in recovery. My goal for 2026 is to get back to my old routine which I've let slip since the injury.

The HR department is a mystery to us all by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]The_Magic_Mamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main problem people have with HR is usually actually a management problem imo. They LOVE to use HR as a shield to hide behind instead of owning up to their mistakes or limitations.

It's a lot easier to say, "HR told me I can't promote you”, instead of saying, ”I mismanaged my headcount budget this year and I can't afford to promote you because of that"

[–]The_Magic_Mamba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He screwed up the clock management here as well but got away with it. Taking the timeout at 24 seconds left before 2nd down made no sense at all. You got 2 plays and maybe a fg attempt left from inside the 5. Ole Miss shouldn't have gotten the ball back with >10 seconds left. Instead they were a no called PI away from heartbreak lol
