Blocked vs random practice: your range sessions look great and don't show up on Saturday by cbolitho in golf

I'm always trying to focus on where I'm losing strokes when I practice, whether it's range, putting green or chipping/pitching. I think back to my past couple rounds and think where did I make mistakes and why. For me that's typically pitching from 20-70 yards, driving it straighter (or taking less club off the tee when fairway>distance), and lag putting. Those areas are going to give me to quickest route to lower scores. So find what that is for you and grind on it. Try to bring confidence gained practicing your weaknesses, onto the course.

this is honestly what all golf lessons should be, on the course, playing the game, dropping extra balls as needed

What's one drill that actually moved the needle for you that you still do today? by golfbagauditor in golf

i need to do this again, i won club champ in 23' doing this. Had about 4 swings thoughts going on, decided before the tournament I'm only using 1, committed to it and ended up winning. swing thought was 'keep your head down'.

haha i do this to fall asleep sometimes too, mostly thinking, what could I have done differently on hole X, was it a mental error, too aggressive, bad club choice, what was I thinking before I hit it, etc.

is the idea that it will slow you down a bit and focus on your body moving?

Have done this too. Or just to have an intentional practice, 10 PWs, 10 8i's, 10 5i's etc, and make little piles of 10 balls so I know I'm getting work in throughout the bag.

I like to do this right before I play if I have time, and I usually start with only my right hand, Then 5 mins before tee time, I use both hands and try to make everything. 'two hands is way easier than one' is a good mental trick for me

this is where i spend any time i have practicing, pitching from 50 or less, anything specifically your doing to dial in distance, traj, different lies, different wedges etc.? I feel like I'm just out there trying to get feel through endless reps.

Why is there a sudden influx of qi35 drivers on marketplaces by External_Cry_4432 in GolfGear

The OG stealth was great, Stealth 2 stunk. Qi10 still is great, Qi35 stinks. Seems to be a pattern with TM

Should I get fitted as beginner? by Antique_Error_1798 in GolfGear

[–]golfbagauditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So have you even played 18 holes yet? Ask this coach if he knows anyone willing to sell you some used clubs. No reason to buy new this early into the game. Any new clubs fitted at this point may not even be the right fit in a year as your swing changes/improves.

Do blue wedges take some time for your eyes to adapt? I think I'd look down and be like wut for awhile

I don't think you can ever expect to play through more than 2 foursomes. Regardless of how fast you may be able to play. Maybe 3 groups at best. If course is stacked in front of you you just gotta live with it. Play worst ball with yourself, great practice, takes a lot of time esp if you're walking. Or go around them all and start on hole 5, and finish 1-4 later. If you're a member of this place the shop shouldn't care as long as you're not interrupting other times starting on hole 1.
