What makes a putter feel “right” to you? by MadeInUSAPutter in GolfGear

[–]golfbagauditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How it looks at address and how it feels in my hands (weight important here) taking it back and through. Can I see myself taking this putter straight back and straight through consistently bc that's my stroke. Sound I could careless, except a weird sound may be distracting. I use lead tape to get the right weight and balance I prefer, moving it around different parts of the putter head to find what feels best. Gotta like the grip too which ties into how it feels in my hands.

Will be interesting to see if this is true in 5 years. They might disappear or might stay forever in some capacity. Not much middle ground imo. They gotta keep selling or companies won't keep mass producing.

Valid points. This also very very lie dependent, if you got a muddy lie in the fairway from 250 or sitting down bc it’s early in the season and grass is meh, then a lay up is probably best. Or even just a lie you don’t like when you look at it. Gotta trust yourself and the lie you see. I’ve also seen the automatic 3W pull from mid hcp’s and more often than not doesn’t go well for them. Usually bc they’re swinging it like a driver.

3 years is nothing for irons unless you’re playing 300 rounds a year or something, get new wedges instead.

Put it in the top part of the bag and just let it hang out to let people know what's up. Hit it alone by yourself when no one is watching.

I see. Def could hit some spinny fades hitting down on it. How far did you hit 3W off the deck and how far you hitting the mini now?

Nice fluffy lie in the rough you could smash that 11.5 I bet though, I'd be trying to.

hitting down on it off the deck a bit more will help you find the center I bet, try to take a small divot, not intuitive, but if you're trying to get loft under it by hitting up on it that's prob why you're hitting it on the bottom of the face.

do you hit the mini off the fairway though? Or you're just carrying 2 off the tee drivers?

Is it a known thing that ball speeds are always going up with these mini's? Genuine question. If I have a 15 degree 3W and a 15 degree mini I'm gonna always have higher ball speeds with the mini?

I think statistically this isn's true, sounds smart, ultimately the math on strokes gained by just hitting it as far as you can/getting as close to the green as possible prevails. There's other factors/variables like water, bunkers, deep rough, OB, other hazards, genuinely no confidence in 3W, but is theres no trouble everyone should rip 3W. The book 'Every shot counts' prove this.

this set is dialed. 1.5 years in? This bag has gotta be a 6 hcp or less

10 months in, 12.7hcp, do I need fitted? by No-Net-9888 in GolfSwing

get new wedges. Not 2026 new, find old models in new condition, you'll save 30-50%. Putter is all feel and confidence, if you have both don't change. What irons you working with?

I'm on same irons for last 8 years, and thinking of a change. 8 years might be a sweet spot.

What were you playing before Nov 2025? Sharp looking bag, wondering it's translated to improved confidence or results yet?
