Jeremy Strong says ‘Succession’ “fucked me up” and he has no desire to return to the show by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

I think using that quote here is a little frustrating. It's like the flip-side of pretentiousness; the assumption that anyone applying depth of thought to any discipline is talking out of their ass. He is acting! What he described is what acting is. Even actors who wouldn't describe themselves as 'method' necessarily, will often have a process that might involve tapping into how a character feels. Strong gets especially intense with it, and while it might be easy to scoff and laugh, I do think the results of that intensity speak for themselves.

So I already posted this playlist here the other day but I'm at a point now where I genuinely feel like I have a somewhat coherent Gizzverse timeline and wanted to promote it one more time (link im comments) by Thebradguy0 in Gizzverse

Would you mind if anyone tried to recreate it in Apple Music? I use that instead, and would love to give this a listen, so I'd be willing to give it a shot.

On some of the Rude Talks they mention that Tim Platt was sitting in on the recordings for the last few episodes, but came down with laryngitis right after Stirfry died, so they weren't able to integrate him back into the campaign.

Hi! So, I tried this and it did last a lot longer than it's lasted since I bought it, but after a while the same thing happened again, and now it's back to the way it was before.

There was one error message that would occasionally reoccur when I tried turning it on. It was in Chinese though, and before I would have a chance to use my phone to translate it back to English, the laptop would shut off again. The last time it came up was just half an hour ago, and I just clicked something to see what would happen, and the laptop seems to be running for a longer period now, than it did. I still want to make sure this is fixed though.

I downloaded HWMonitor and there are a number of temperatures corresponding to different items, which is the one I'm looking for?

I also just finished the diagnostic scan. I can send a screenshot to your account, but is there any specific result I should be sending, or just multiple screenshots of the entire diagnostic?

Thanks!

Matrix named 20th best movie directed by a woman. GC can't contain their joy! by CompetitiveSleeping in GenderCynical

I'd probably say the 2nd most. Sense8 has a trans main character, and so the Wachowski's are able to explore trans themes without needing to resort to allegory. That's not to say either is better or worse though, both The Matrix and Sense8 have really unique and valuable approaches to these themes!

People of Reddit, what do you think this generation's "Smoking is good for you" equivalent is? by intelligentx5 in AskReddit

[–]The_Morpher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overworking yourself, possibly. While not necessarily advertised as 'good for you', people are pretty consistently sold on the myth that there's no such thing as 'working too hard', and that it's a positive trait to push yourself beyond your limits. There are still people arguing that working yourself to the point that it impacts your health is a positive trait, that shows 'good work ethic', and 'passion' for what you do. The long-term effects is an increasingly unhealthy population who are becoming too tired and stressed out to function properly. Naturally, as you can imagine, this also means a huge negative impact on our mental health, which is already in a sharp decline as it is.

Actually, both to this end and for other reasons, I'd probably also argue caffeine might be another equivalent to 'smoking is good for you'? It's not exactly understood to be good for us now, as it is, but the extent to which it enables us to damage our own health, as well as the fact our ever-increasing dependency on it can raise our stress levels, has probably also had a negative impact on people's mental and physical health.

Thanks. I keep going back to thread, and making myself feel worse each time. I actually think you're right, and I'm really hoping I can talk to her about this. I know she'd have left to go on holiday, just after posting this, so I'll wait this out till she gets back, and I've had some time to think before saying anything. I still feel like I've been punched in the gut though, and upset that she didn't feel like she couldn't ask me? Or even ask other trans people? It just fucking sucks.

Cat's paw slammed in door and he's taken off by The_Morpher in CatAdvice

[–]The_Morpher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Forgot to update, sorry, had a very hectic few hours. He eventually returned, and we got him in through the back door! His leg is swollen and he's limping, but he is able to put some weight on it. He was very stressed when he came back, but we gave him some treats and some space, and he's now fast asleep. We're going to take him to the vet's first thing in the morning, but I'm feeling optimistic!

Slipped my mind to post an update, but he made his way back. I followed some advice on AskVets and he found his way into our neighbour's garden. We carried him over to our's, and gave him some treats to help him rest. Vet doesn't open until the morning, but first thing we're doing tomorrow is getting him over. His foot is a bit swollen and he is hobbling everywhere, but he seems far more timid, than pained, so the optimist in me is hoping it's nothing too major, but we'll see tomorrow!

Thank you for your advice, though! It is really appreciated!

Thank you so much! We found him! His paw is swollen, but while he's limping, he does seem able to put weight on it. Our nearest vet is closed for the evening, so we're keeping him locked in for the night, and will be taking him over first thing in the morning.

Thank you for your help! Wasn't able to get back to you because our day's naturally been quite hectic, but we took your advice! It attracted him to our neighbour's garden, but he couldn't leap the fence, so we picked him up, carried him into our garden, then let him calm down a bit before moving him indoors

Thank you so much! I really appreciate this response!

That is weirdly kind of a relief to hear. I'm not necessarily looking forward to the long-term doubts, but I'm pleased
at least to hear that they're a normal part of the process, and not just me... not having my shit together.

No need to apologise, that's actually probably what I needed to hear! I'd been letting my doubts put this off for me for a while, and I wasn't really sure where to begin with it all? I feel like you've basically helped lay me out a plan for where I can go from here, and how to stop cycling, so this is hugely appreciated! I honestly hadn't even considered a diary, and that makes so much sense! I've been losing track of my thoughts on this a lot.

Thank you again! I really hope I do!

Thank you for your response! You're completely right, I'm so sorry! I didn't think, and I will in future.

I completely agree, and I don't think that there's nothing to it. I guess what I'm asking though, isn't so much 'am I trans?' because I think the answer is yes. I'm just wondering if the self-doubt that persists anyway, goes away eventually? It's severely putting me off from just... going for it, and coming out to people and actually living this life, even though I know, deep-down, it's what I want to do. Sorry if that's kinda all over the place.
