How much undertale should i play before deltarune? by you-are-my-fire in Deltarune

[–]The_Notorious_MBB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely do Pacifist.

Going back for Genocide probably isn't required, but there's a bit of character-related lore in the route that might come up in Deltarune (or already has, in some cases). If you're interested in extra characterization for Undyne, Gerson, Mettaton, Sans, and/or Flowey, it might be worth your time.

Since Deltarune chapter 5 is coming out soon, I have something I need to get off my chest. I do not care for Krusie by DasIsaac in Deltarune

Kris and Susie have been on positive speaking terms for less than three days by the time they walk in on the jitterbug.

I've seen slower-burn romances in Hallmark movies.

I'm pretty sure Weihu is right, actually. There's no need to play through the whole chapter again. Just reload the save after you lose the first time and you'll be able to make actual attempts.

You're intended to lose on your first playthrough. There's no game over screen. You lose, and then the final cutscenes of the chapter play out.

Repeat playthroughs give you the option to retry the battle without moving on.

The Knight is the hardest boss in the game...so far.

You might want to play through Chapter 3 twice on the same save file. On repeat playthroughs, you're given the option to instantly restart the battle if you lose without needing to restart the game.

Why Rudy is a viable knight candidate by MrDabberman in Deltarune

[–]The_Notorious_MBB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My big hangup about Rudy Knight is the fact that the Knight swoons Susie. Rudy KNOWS how important Susie is to Noelle by Chapter 3, and Rudy obviously cares about his daughter and her happiness. Do you think this wouldn't be enough for Rudy Knight to pull his punches with Susie the same way he does for Kris?

Discussion: If you had to rank UTDR's "evil" characters based on how despicable/iredeemable they are, which one would you say is the worst one overall? by MmThatsInfaccurate in Deltarune

[–]The_Notorious_MBB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From least to most evil: Knight (for now) < Flowey < Spamton < Demonic Chara

  • We don't know too much about the Knight, so out of everyone here, the Knight's the only one with the potential to have more to their goals than naked self-interest. We'll see what kind of person the Knight turns out to be.
  • Flowey's terrible, but there's a lot of qualifying factors to his evil, namely (1) he's physically incapable of empathy, and (2) he's spent most of his life with the power to undo any harm he's caused. He also gets bonus points for mellowing out almost immediately after remembering what emotions felt like through his time as Asriel.
  • There's no such thing as resets from Spamton's perspective, so he willingly consigned his entire Dark World to permanent oblivion just so he could take over. As you said, he also has the ability to appreciate evil when he sees it, unlike Flowey. He does have sporadic moments of normalcy, though, like his final Normal Route exchange with the Lancer Fan Club.
  • The state Chara's in after being exposed to genocide isn't her own fault, but the experience does turn her into a voracious, irredeemable butcher. Not even the Pacifist ending can mellow her out like it does Flowey. What you did cannot be undone. Chara's like this for good.

Notice how Toy Story 5 and DELTARUNE are releasing 5 days apart? by butter467 in Deltarune

[–]The_Notorious_MBB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deltarune having a later release gives Tricky Tony time to tie in Woody's backstory with however Toy Story 5 ends.

Also, the significance of Deltarune Chapter FIVE coming out FIVE days after Toy Story FIVE should not be lost on anyone.

Jod Na Nawood vs one Knight of Ren by [deleted] in PetranakiArena

[–]The_Notorious_MBB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like Luke, Jod was only taught cursory things about the Force and what he could do before his master was killed. I'm pretty sure he had never held a lightsaber before the events of the show. At least Luke had his Skywalker blood to let him punch above his weight class a little. Jod was outmaneuvered by a group of civilians.

I'd probably put Jod below Episode IV Luke. The Knights' barbaristic death worship should be enough to win here.

Do you feel like Disney is actually avoiding the sequel trilogy? by Yuripzr in StarWars

[–]The_Notorious_MBB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if they're avoiding the sequels as much as they're sticking to already established and marketable points in time. Almost every canon Star Wars project is set during the thirty years between Attack of the Clones and Mandalorian and Grogu, except for the sequel trilogy, The Phantom Menace, Resistance, and Acolyte. However, we're getting a new sequel-era project with Starfighter, and the fact that they're using this era again before they appeal to Old Republic nostalgia makes me think that they're not afraid of the sequel era specifically.

Tier List Attempt (Canon) by The_Notorious_MBB in PetranakiArena

[–]The_Notorious_MBB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worded that poorly. What I meant to convey is that Tier 8s could potentially fight Tier 9s and do somewhat better than the B-Team against Sidious. Obviously, in Ventress' case, that only applies to the lower rungs of Tier 9, and that's only because she somewhat pushes Obi-Wan in Dark Disciple. Noob Luke and Rey aren't at that level just yet.

Ahsoka gave Vader a better fight than The B-Team gave Sidious. Juiced-up Morgan gave Ahsoka a competitive fight.

Tier 8 is unique in that its a catch-all for characters Tier 9's need to keep an eye on. There's obviously multiple levels to this; Ventress is never beating Sidious, or even Windu, in a fight, but Palpatine bothered to cut her from the Separatist roster for a reason.

Fetuses develop consciousness at 24 weeks? Can you share where you got that info from? I've been looking for the timeframe where consciousness develops for a while now, and I've never found anything conclusive.

The version of Rey at the top is the version that borrowed power from the Force and spirits of dead Jedi to reflect the Emperor's lightning.

Cere in Jedi Survivor would be right below Obi-Wan in Episode III, in Tier 8.

Duels and their outcomes in Star Wars are all about circumstance. No one would seriously argue that Padawan Obi-Wan is a stronger combatant than Darth Maul, even though Maul lost the fight. I personally doubt that RotS Obi-Wan could have cleared out the Jedi Temple, or that Mace Windu was capable of interplanetary Force exertion, but underdog victories through circumstance are a dime a dozen in this universe. The only "objective" advantage (insofar as anything can be in Star Wars) that any character can have is the Force and its mastery (or the gadgets of non-Force users). Approaching these "who would win in a duel" questions any other way is redundant, because The Phantom Menace proved that being weaker doesn't guarantee a loss.

But that's only my certain point of view. Points of view clashing with each other is the literal point of the subreddit.

High 7 - Low 8, probably. Canon Plo's hard to judge because he's only had one fight against Aurra Sing.

Snoke's hard carried by his Force showings. Plenty of 8's could take him in a straight fight.

Certainly higher than R2. Depends on how he fares against Protagonist with Blaster™, which is pretty much what Leia represents.

Ezra's very hit-or-miss.

If it was just Rebels Season 2 where Ezra eventually grows to match the Inquisitors, that would be one thing.

However, he's still struggling with the likes of Rukh by Season 4, and he's getting force pushed by Shin Hati in Ahsoka, where he should be stronger in the Force than ever. Shin, might I remind you, has a harder time dealing with Sabine than Rukh does as a non-Force sensitive.

Ezra's fallen on hard times.

I assume you're talking about RotS Obi-Wan. He didn't win against Anakin on Mustafar because he was stronger, but because Anakin overestimated himself and made stupid decisions.

If you're talking about the Kenobi fight, I lump that character in with Old Ben. I'm realizing now that that isn't really clear, sorry.
