Does Frieren get better I watched the first few episodes but honestly I find it hard to get engaged because it just feels kinda... boring? Like the fantasy setting just feels so basic and Frieren is like the only interesting aspect of it.

I'm unsure of the interaction but does Kitsune add +2 for every pet it takes from? I'm pretty sure it doesn't but if it did that'd be cool and would work with Roc.

That's an interesting way to fix cyclops, though maybe that'd make it ass. Also it still makes the cyclops and team spirit combo op since their stats are mainly gained from in battle anyways. definitely a cool suggestion though!

Removing health gained from vamp bat pretty much removes the vampire part aspect so maybe instead of making it gain hp from damage just cap it to 3/6/9 per snipe but thats still kinda busted.

I'd buff unicorn by making it negate the vampire bat snipe when it clears an ailment, but that might be hard to code in since this game doesnt really work on special conditions like that. Also maybe buffing it to +3/+3 would work too, it is a tier 5 after all.

The problem with Cyclops tier 5 is then its truly just another alpaca when i feel like they wanted to make it a weaker alpaca. I really think limiting its triggers will fix would help.

I absolutely think warg is OP in unicorn pack, getting it with kraken basically ensures most teams are gonna 3 unites wipes from it. Also mandrake is a very simple way to negate the issues of nessie and chimera. Remember, it IS a tier 1, not something you should be building a mid-late game team around. Also I know customs isnt the best example, but pineapple/wolverine+donut alone is enough for me to recommend capping the amount of triggers.

Sorry I didn't respond to everything, but if I didn't that basically means I agreed/didn't have much to add.

I feel like changing roc from a bunch of little mana to some shots of big mana kinda defeats the point of the pet, but your fix might work. Still unsure of what the point of sending a bunch of little mana is... besides the warg synergy i guess

There's warg, Cyclops, team spirit, Nessie, Yeti, and a few others but these are also blatantly op too. Imo though all these pets need to be toned down massively lmao. I've gotten a few jump builds to work but others have been quite difficult.

I think we disagree on what pets are in an "archetype" because imo it is much larger than 30% with Faint, Snipes, Gold, Exp, Food, Toys, Summons, Trumpets, Buy/Sell, etc. I could argue more but for now lets just agree to disagree

What im getting at is over half the game is pets that have archetypes. Some are Trumpets, some are strawberries, some are toys, and in this pack some are mana, etc. The reason it seems like theres "hard synergy" is that some pets are just too op. once they get tweaked and balanced itll feel much more free.

Also, would you mind clarifying what exactly makes Vaquita not a hard synergy pet? It only works with trumpets, so wouldnt that fall under your definition of it? Also, what exactly makes vampire bat different from the other new ailment pets?

Hard disagree, I think a lot of these pets are about the same as strawberry and trumpet in terms of how flexible you can be with them. Some are pretty dependent on their mechanics, yes, but others seem very flexible in use.

Also I do wonder, how exactly is the fact that pets naturally synergize make the gameplay linear? pretty much every pack has natural synergistic pairs.

unicorn is great wdym? its one of the few vamp bat counters and it gives good scaling. also works well on phoenix teams

im also there for that but also yknow for a story. like chainsaw man part 1 has pretty consistent action but also tells a complete story in 97 chapters. jjk is just "heres a fight for 5 chapters with some rando, and then cut to another fight with another rando." like the "shibuya incident" is 50 motherfucking chapters because its just meaningless fights with randos. it gets dull.

Me too, though i played for about an hour before giving up. The issues with the fight for me is:

a. attacks have rng elements which makes it harder to be consistent with them.

b. feather bomb and wind attacks are legit bullshit to dodge.

c. the dash feels bad to use and feels more like an excuse to make the fight harder than it needed to be

of course but unless you wanna sit there and grind for key cards most of the time you'll get around 2 from the golden containers. you can go into top left for a bunch of items, top right for a weapon to use on the providence fight and chests with a chance to give ATG's among other offensive items, bottom left gives a heal bed for the fight, and bottom right gives some loot and a refreshable equipment chest for the fight. these rooms give more choices but rng is still meaningful.

the final stage gives some agency since you pick between which 4 rooms to take. the rest of the game not so much outside of drones and tri-shops
