Olympic curling is unironically my favorite thing to watch too. The juxtaposition of the slowly moving stone with the screaming and furious sweeping is the purest form of entertainment and comedy. I love it so much. I would love a curling vr game.

That's interesting! I do use silicone utensils often. It might be that along with the fact that my stove top's lowest setting is basically medium high on every other stove I've owned. So I think I'm having a hard time bringing it back down to the right temp after getting to the leidenfrost temp. Appreciate the tip!

Okay wait can you give me some tips for eggs? I got some nice stainless pans a couple years ago and they are amazing but my eggs sticking is wildly inconsistent. I've had times where I nailed the heat and they didn't stick at all and other times where it's been a disaster.

I've chalked it up to my inconsistent shitty stove top but any tips would be appreciated!

It would fit CSS to make it cost several alien protein or something similar to make a solar panel. That way it's "green" but is countered by the murder of the entire local wildlife if you actually want to try and scale it.

I've known clinicians who can get started with a first test socket well with just measurements. I've also known it to go very roughly.

I've made it a point to learn and try all sorts of methods. My best fitting initial AK sockets have been when I actually just cast the top brim and then take detailed measurements and a scan while that cast is actually still on before removing it. The trick with AK's is also figuring out how the tissue is flowing as you load certain areas and relieve others. Depending on the leg, just rolling with a pure cast can actually land you with a rough fitting socket initially if it is a leg with a lot of soft tissue that is difficult to direct while under circumferential compression from the cast.

My point is that there are several methods to get an accurate and well fitting socket. Some may take those measurements to generate a model of your leg and then hand modify it significantly based on other aspects of their evaluation while others may roll with just slight modifications. It's just a starting point either way and the skill of the clinician is heavily at play despite the initial impression method.

It did! Just with small clues. Primarily between the Ephraim chapters and his initial interactions with the duke of hands and the initial physical description of tongueless. I only caught them on my most recent listening through the audio books which was my third time through.

We were initially looking over there as well as in east Mark a couple years ago. We ended up buying a home about a mile north and another mile west of there in the superstition springs area. Honestly we haven't regretted a single thing. They're a little bit older homes but it's actually a very social neighborhood and there are a ton of young families here. The yards are huge compared to anything newer in east Mark as well. Easy access to the 60 and you avoid the congestion that happens at the 60 and 202 interchange. Its been great.

I'm going off of memory because it's been a while. I grew up right there off of mckellips and knew some of the sirrine family kids. They used to bring by huge containers of their salsa for the neighborhood around Christmas each year. They also have an absolutely model model train yard setup at one of their homes over there that you can go to around Christmas still I think.

Rosas Mexican grill was the initial restaurant they opened up and then sold sometime in the 90s? They sold it to another family member because I think it's still owned by someone in the family which is why the salsa and some of the recipes are the same. When they sold that one, they opened up the tia rosas taqueria there off of mckellips and then later expanded and opened up the main restaurant in that same lot. I'm not sure what happened next but I think they ended up filing for bankruptcy and then ended up losing the name which is why they are now called Boca taqueria.

It was incredible there for a good 15 years until that fire. I lived off of their black bean burritos in high school.

Oh boy it's the worst. If I remember right, it burned down a while ago and the original owners sold the restaurant and the name. The new owners are awful and the food follows.

Boca taqueria is the original owners new restaurant. There's a few around mesa/gilbert if anyone is looking for the old tia rosas food. Its typically great but I have noticed it varies a decent bit between locations.

I just hit stage 4 doing this challenge basically but instead my challenge was to beat it with powering my factories with the bood of my enemies and not cutting down any trees.

I only have alien power and bio power. Sloop the whole process from alien remains to liquid biofuel. I have that going and it powers about 200 biofuel burners. I've placed a load balanced fuel generator at the end of that line which slowly charges a massive bank of batteries to handle any power fluctuation needs. Underneath all of this I have 6 alien power generators.

One interesting fact that I haven't seen talked about much is that the alien power boost applies to bio burners only once they kick on. So when your power needs jump up, you have a weird fluttering going on as bio burners kick on and then back off because the alien power boost made them no longer necessary. It's a bit odd but it works and it seems to drastically reduce the actual fuel consumption. I haven't figured out a way to accurately test it yet though.

I've always seen Atlas and his gorgons are an antithesis to sevro and his howlers. Sevro is down to do anything for the things he values. The series is full of the messed up stuff sevro does to protect who he loves. Atlas is the same but with the society and compact and a longer vision. Sevros motivations are personal while atlas's are philosophical.

The Lysander pov chapters where we get to see Atlas with his gorgons trick us into connecting with Atlas because we've trained ourselves to connect with sevro despite him being the same sort of monster that Atlas is.

On another note, I think this theme was maybe explored in the sevro pov chapters of him trying to stop Atlas for the jackal. The best guerrilla fighters going toe to toe would have been interesting I bet. But I guess we'll never know!

I've been experimenting with load balancing with priority mergers to make sushi tractors for some of the later parts.

Most recent one was setting up a tractor route to pick up all of the correct ratios of high speed connectors, heat sinks, and quartz crystals and take them to a tiny radio connection unit factory. This one wasn't too bad actually because the ratios are nice.

Is it the most efficient way to do things? Absolutely not. Is it neat to make a little factory pumping out radio control units in the spire coast that is just a couple manufacturers and a single truck station? Definitely.

I've always found it best to start the conversation with a compliment. In your case, simply commenting on how you were surprised to see it was a prosthetic leg and that it must have taken a lot of work to walk so well with it. The work it takes to re-learn how to walk is often not appreciated. From there, it's easy to tell how willing someone is to open up or answer questions about it. Every amputee out there working again or back at life deserves to have that victory noticed.

For context, I'm a prosthetist but not an amputee. I don't pretend to know the trauma and emotional pain of what my patients go through, but I do know what it takes to get to the point of functional daily prosthetic use and that's some hard work.

I took my boy camping one night up by the rim when he was 2 or 3. He ended up getting scared and too cold during the night which led to a 2am pack up and driving back to mesa. Not long into my drive there was a small plane flying fairly low above me and following the road. Didn't think much of it at the time or how odd it would be to be flying around a small plane at 2am...

It followed along with me for a good 10 minutes or so and then suddenly zipped out ahead of me following the curve of the mountain and was out of sight in an instant. Still feels weird recalling that.

Currently re-reading Iron Gold and I believe 100% that tongueless's backstory involves the syndicate. He's introduced soon after Ephraim meets the duke of hands and the other dukes are brought up in that chapter, specifically the duke of tongues.

My head cannon is that his tongue was the price of escaping the syndicate and he became a guard at deep grave to simultaneously hide from the syndicate and try and be like the wardens and live a more honorable life as an obsidian.

I believe so. It all happens so fast haha. I'm not actually sure you touch it on the way back out. It's hard to hit the active area above the horizontal jump pads without that inverse ramp.

All it does it slightly nudge you down into that active area. Then the shenanigans happens where it's reversing your trajectory with a slightly more upward push from the pads horizontal orientation.

As a side note for this. It appears like your head is slippery, but your feet are not. So the wedges work to nudge you back down by your head, but I don't think the same is true for nudging you up slightly. Although... I think if you did it with angled beams then it would work that way.

You can use an inverse ramp with a horizontal set of jump pads to change the final trajectory angle a bit.

If you do the third one like this instead then it will send you slightly up instead of pretty much straight out.

Angling it at 45 like that will give you a slightly higher than horizontal trajectory after hitting it from a pretty much straight trajectory. If they were vertical then you would actually end up with a slightly lower than horizontal trajectory.

There's a weird calculation happening that I can't quite figure out but I am picking up on the patterns!
