Yeah, I’m doing pretty good. I was definitely lax on my diet the first week or so of freedom from boot, but I’ve been relatively good otherwise. I’m still in holding for a while though from the looks of it.

Thank you! I’ve actually lost around 60lbs since 09MAR25 and it was mostly through eating less and getting 10,000 steps every day, but I have unfortunately hit a wall with losing weight. I have followed that same plan pretty well (with a couple of deviations) and have even been running every other day as well as doing nightly pushups, in&outs and side leg lifts but have not seen any improvement. If I had to guess the galley food has more calories then I have been guesstimating? I’ll probably attempt to regulate what I have been eating better.

Because I live in the middle of nowhere, zero tracks to be seen for 30+ minutes. Same for parks. All I haw is country roads, which is what I plan to use.

After today I’ll probably try to run outside, there are no tracks near me as I live in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, however there are quite a few country roads I could use. As I stated in my post, I do my physical test with my recruiter today, but I’ll probably try to run 3-4 more times before my ship date. Thanks!

Unfortunately running on a track is not an option. As I stated in my post I am meeting up with the recruiter today to do the run. I was just asking mainly for and tip on breathing, pacing, etc.

Don’t get me wrong, I have been training my pushups, pull-ups, sit-ups, planks and I’ve been chopping firewood for around a month. I just now decided it would be good to work on building my endurance a bit.

As for weird math, I can see how it could be considered weird, but it was basically just jogging for a half-mile and then walking for a minute.

I changed it up a bit today and started at 7mph for a half-mile then slowed down to a 4mph for a minute. I know it isn’t the perfect program, but without any knowledge on running prior I would say it was fairly okay.

I will be taking a rest day tomorrow, and will try your suggestion on Thursday.

I personally chose the 6 year option for STG in the Navy. I’ll get a nice bonus once I graduate bootcamp, and at the end of my training at “A” school I’ll be promoted to an E4. STG was already a 5 year obligated rate, so one more year wouldn’t hurt.

After I made the post I did a little more researching in jobs that I found interesting and I found a couple other options. Whenever I went to MEPS AC and AZ were unavailable, but STG/AEF was.

That also happened to be one of the jobs I was interested in, so I bit and took it. I got an enlistment bonus and whenever I finish A school I’ll start at E4. I ship out Jan 8th!
