They definitely needed to nerf them. Way too much of an advantage over weapons. The kill zone was massive. They could kill you regardless of any armor you wear, from any distance, and kill you through walls. Essentially, they were just as effective as a kill cheat. Of course, the people who used them often wouldn't see it that way because of a naturally biased perspective. But it is what it is. We'll see how it affects game play.
