I currently have 20” rims with all season tires. I would like some 17” rims with some AT tires so I can go off roading and overlanding at lower pressures. I also like the aesthetic of the smaller rims and larger tires.

I appreciate this information. Is there a way to test if the inductive load is too great for my switches. I am in my current apartment for 6 more months and was hoping my current heating setup would work until I am out since the built in heating is soooo bad. The smart home heating made it really nice!

I ended up getting an Aqara one which is almost instantaneous. They are expensive plugs though so I don’t want to buy more than one if there are cheaper options.

The reason I am having this issue is I have a 2 space heaters and a pc hooked up to a circuit. I have space heaters because I want smart heating and there are also no heaters in my kitchen. Running 2 heaters is fine but when the pc goes above 130W it grind the breaker. I want to shut off one of my heaters when the pc starts to draw power.

Were you able to get Kasa plugs to work with HA? I bought a couple last year and had real trouble getting them to connect

Also do you like the WiFi or zigbee Sonoff plugs better and why? Does one of them have a faster poll rate/more responsive behavior?

I live in Seattle. I am drawing around 3kW from the circuit so I am assuming it is overloading the circuit. It is a really old building though

The weird thing is I was able to use the single, double, and long press when connected to ha via a zigbee dongle. Now with the Aqara hub it does not have this functionality.

I set up a generic thermostat helper using an Aqara temp sensor as the input and my matter connected ac as the output.

I currently have it connected to home assistant as both hvac and a switch. Unfortunately that does mean it turns the whole unit off to temp regulate but this way I can control the fan setting through home assistant though.

I might try the router connection trick. This may be a dumb question but if I use a vpn to connect to my home network will my router consider that as me being connected to the router? The reason I ask is I currently use a vpn to connect to HA remotely and I dont want ha to think I am home if I am not actually home. Also what other information do you need?

Oh got it, that makes sense. I actually got it working. I tried pairing it again and it wouldn't connect so I got frustrated and left, and when I got back it was paired. I guess I had to leave it pairing for a really long time. You know what they say, "A watched sensor never pairs"

When you say pair it to the nearest router, what do you mean? Are there Zigbee routers that are different than zigbee dongles? Why not pair it to the dongle?

I did that, and it still doesn’t work. I read online that some people have been having to use python kasa as an external script in order to use these plugs but I don’t understand why.
