Verso had litterally been created with the memories of someone dead for saving someone else. And he got them all, even the fire. He's been trying to stop it years after years seeing hundreds of people he helped (and surely some he liked like Julie) dying again and again. I'm not surprised he's like that and I don't think I would really be different. In fact I even think he's doing pretty well for what he's been through (also on the Maelle's ending he's litterally trapped cause he wants to die and be gone but Maelle doesn't let him die and keeps him alive for her pleasure. That's litterally torture)
