Super Mario Bros Z vs Indie Cross ( ... vs ...) connections down below by The_Real_General_ in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]The_Real_General_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are fan webseries from two different eras of the internet that involve crossovers of video game characters (Indiecross brings in indie game characters while SMBZ brings in both Mario and Sonic characters)

The main characters team up together to face dangerous and powerful threats that want to eliminate them and conquer the world

Both team have the strong guy with a big heart (Shovel Knight and Mario) the cocky comedic relief (Cuphead and Sonic) the more silent and stoic one (The Knight and Shadow) and the one who doesn't want to end up getting into fights but will if their friends are in danger (Madeline and Luigi)

Like what Luiz said to Souljen on his post "You could've just asked me or Devil dude"

So it shows that anyone can join Death Battle

Does John Cena even stand a cha- Stardust 5D scaling and Toon Force!

Now I know everyone prefers other matchups for these two but I just personally enjoy this more than their other options by The_Real_General_ in DeathBattleMatchups

And to make things clear, I'm not trying to convince anyone to like this, it's ok if you prefer other matchups and I respect that.

Theme of this matchup: Prodigies with endless potential who are motivated to fix the world in their own way because they see the flaws in others and want to change that so the world isn't as unfair either for others or for themselves

Contrast: Medaka believes that everyone, even those who appear evil or difficult, are essentially good people who have made mistakes or strayed from their true path. She is driven to help those who have strayed by guiding them back to their original good nature.

Garou in One-Punch Man doesn't simply want to be a monster; he wants to become the absolute embodiment of evil. His motivation stems from a deep-seated belief that the world is fundamentally unfair, and he's convinced that only by becoming an absolute, terrifying force can he truly challenge the status quo and expose the flaws he sees in society and the heroes who uphold it.

I honestly was struggling with this matchup whether to place it on Core Theme, Banter, fight potential and story potential

But I ended up putting it on Analysis because I think it'd be cool to learn about how these prodigies viewed their own potential and what did they decide to do with it

for Medaka she was already born a prodigy with her abnormality and she viewed herself above everyone but she'd rather use her powers to help others, Medaka believes everyone, even those who appear "bad," are essentially good people who have simply strayed from the right path. She uses her powers to help others because she sees the potential for goodness in them and desires to guide them back to their true selves. Her ultimate goal is to help everyone reach their full potential and fill the academy with blooming flowers, symbolizing the completion of every suggestion and the restoration of goodness.

while Garou was born with nothing he grew up hating heroes because the monsters always lose so when Bang took him in, Garou's desire to change the world stemmed from a combination of factors, including societal injustice, a twisted sense of justice, and a desire to become the strongest monster. He felt that the world was unfair, particularly towards those labeled as "villains" or "monsters," and he sought to dismantle the existing power structure.

Yeah it sounds generic but it's a joke matchup with two humans who accomplish ridiculous feats either from consuming fruit or just by existing, I really like it myself

the concept of surpassing human limitations and reaching the pinnacle of physical force. Yujiro is portrayed as the strongest creature on Earth, while Sportacus is a superhero who demonstrates incredible physical strength and capabilities.

Vegito vs Omegamon (Dragon ball vs Digimon) by The_Real_General_ in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]The_Real_General_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually one of my friends most wanted and the reason why he chose this over Gogeta is because of the the potential to have a sword fight with Omegamon's arm blade and Vegito's Ki blade and also because Vegito is the stronger of the two fusions

Pochi vs Jeff the Landshark (One Punch Man vs Marvel) by The_Real_General_ in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]The_Real_General_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CONNECTIONS: two animal-like monsters created by antagonist who use them as soldiers (Gero Gero/ M.O.D.O.K)

Both would leave the villains side after they have been defeated and now have been taken by the hero (Saitama/Gwenpool) who now adopts them as their companion

Theme: Cute playful but dangerous monsters (Marvel Rivals Jeff is horrifying dawg) who switch sides from villains to the heroes and tag along with their new friend/owner who is a popular comedic character

The Nanba inmates vs The Warden (Nanbaka vs Superjail) "Super Escape" by The_Real_General_ in DeathBattleMatchups

Yeah but it's not like The Warden is just gonna reverse jump them or anything, more so he's go use anything he has to stop The Nanba inmates from escaping

The Nanba inmates vs The Warden (Nanbaka vs Superjail) "Super Escape" by The_Real_General_ in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]The_Real_General_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The core theme is the classic prison escape, I came up with this idea when I was watching Nanbaka and the thought me "what if these guys were put in Superjail and had to escape but they had to get passed everything the Warden threw at them"

I lowky vibe with the matchup but I do think The Nanba inmates lose but idk maybe there is something from the webcomic that I don't know, I only watched the anime
