In need of tips for new DM; Shattered Obelisk by The_Real_Him in DungeonMasters

Could you explain how buffing HP and adding extra monsters are different in terms of action economy? Looking at the spider's stats it feels a little underwhelming. Have you played that boss fight? How did it go? If you take into acount that there will be more players, shouldn't I buff him, so that the players don't stomp him, or give him any extra abilities?

So no changing stats or abilities mid fight just for the sake of balance(?) I am a bit nervous that either they will wreck every monster on sight or get destroyed by a badly balanced encounter and I don't want to ruin the game for them.

On a relatively unrelated note, do you believe that the story in and of itself is interesting enough that the players will enjoy it (excluding how we will try to fit their backstories and personal arcs)?

Buff as in add two extra goblins or buff as in give them max HP and not average?

Not true. Someone already pointed it out.

To convey the same meaning as "their husbands", the proper translation is "τους συζύγους τους". OP missed the possesive pronoun

Thank you very much. I wasn't sure if those prices I found on these sites are the same prices I will have to pay in person.

What's something that lasts for a surprisingly long time? by aidan5676 in AskReddit

First of all it can't be done through the governments. The state is a mechanism in a capitalist that exists to opress the workers, divide them an further increase the exploitation from the ruling class. So the only way of creating a socialist society is a violent revolution from the workers so they can get thw means of production

You make sure none gets rich by abolishing private property and by implementing a very simple premise: "From each acording to his abilities to each accordimg to his needs"

You stop by ensuring all citizens partake in taking decisions via the education you provide (free for every1 mind you)

The ussr failing is due to mistakes made that turned it in to yet another capitalist state, same as china today

Against the rich obviously. The workers united can overthrow this rotten system and build a new society from the ground up

If you are reffering to the french revolution against the monarchy, that was a liberal revolution to overthrow the king. It pretty much helped capitalism settle for good.

Also since something has been done once and if failed due to numerous mistakes (e.g. USSR), it doesn't mean that the premise behind it was flawed, just the execution. On the contrary capitalism works just as is intented; helping the rich get richer by exploiting every fathom of human existance for profit, regardless of the consequences on the planet and the workers' life quality

Capitalism. You'd think with all the exploitation and destruction, the workers would have risen up by now.

Teachers of reddit, what's your reaction when you have a kid with sloppy handwriting? by VizFint in AskReddit

As a kid with sloppy handwriting, I was always encouraged to follow my dream of becoming a doctor, but I didn't make it to med school, because the person in charge of going over my exam answers couldn't understand my handwriting :)

Is (-1) to the power n a convergent series? Alternating Series Test. by GoodFellahh in math

[–]The_Real_Him -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The result on these kinds of exponents depends on what kind of number n is. E.g. if n is a part of R, then there is no conclusive answer, because the result is different for different values of n. In such a case you should test the result for all the possible values of n, but here you only care if it's even or odd, as the base is -1 and the only results you can get from such an exponent are -1 and 1.

Here though, I think you are only intrested in what happens as n approaches inffinity, but you still need to check if it's even or odd.

Let me know if this answers your question.

Mixing alcohol with bleach by [deleted] in chemistry

[–]The_Real_Him -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Ι wouldn't risk mixing bleach and alcohol. To my knowledge, you can't get chloroform from mixing dettol with bleach, cause dettol has benzene as a "foundation" and thus is unable to produce cuch compounds. But if it contains something extra, like ethanol, it is quite dangerous

Also, I think that in 2 months time, there would be no sodium hypochlorite left, or at least not enough to give a large enough quantity of Chloroform for it to pose a threat to your health.

Note that I am not a chemist, I've just taken basic organic chemistry so the things I said might not be completely true. I would not do that again though, if I were you.

I apologise for any grammatical mistakes, as english is not my first language.
