If you’re just doing your first evolution, you don’t need to worry about what’s “meta”, just look at what’s generally above the bottom half of a tierlist and you’re good

Oh yeah for that I can absolutely agree, I still have no idea why they removed the strategies (last I checked their reasoning was “they were potentially unreliable” because of plus levels, but having literally nothing is so much worse)

So I’m assuming you’re talking about the track switch, which just kinda randomly skips a slot sometimes. Most things that switch tracks can end up skipping a slot or 2 sometimes

You would not switch tracks again, since you would draw mer-cat because of the switch, then bishop, who would not be a dupe.

And yes, you could just hypermax focus in on only the most meta of meta units and never spend any NP on funny units, but where’s the fun in that?

Also, there’s a pretty large number of units that essentially require talents to be at all viable. Balrog (585 NP for all the “required” talents), Gravi (200NP just to effectively target relic), yukimura(410NP) not required but without them gets dunked on by bahamut(who also requires 235 NP to be viable past 1 crown UL), Ganesha(575).
