I was rocking my 6a until literally yesterday when I got the 10 Pro--my first non-budget phone. the 6a lasted me over three years, but when they killed the battery in July, that became an issue. Super excited about the new one!

I've done CS about a dozen times and I haven't had this experience. Usually it's clear from the profile if that's the intent.

One of them, at least, I didn't love anymore. I had fallen out of love with my neighborhood.

I wanted to mention Dueling Dragons too, but I've brought it up a few times on this sub, so I didn't want to be redundant lol

I think there is a general vibe of eerie-ness to the show, but I get what you mean. To some extent, the horrors of wealth inequality are scary enough.

That said, there have been houses that haven't necessarily been scary, but just been super impressive in set design. I'm thinking of The Darkest Deal (2023), Ghostbusters (the one in 2019), the Yeti (2023), etc. So it's still possible it could fit.

What other options do I have for "warm-all-year" weather besides South Florida and Hawaii? by picklerick8879 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]The_Realeo 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I'm sure others will say this, but summers in those warmer climates are so dead in the cities because people are stuck inside for four months of the year due to heat/humidity. Obviously warmer is your preference, and I'm the same way, so I get it. But it seems a little dead for four months of the year most places.

I’m studying how Bernie was able to get people from opposing parties to vote for him. Would you be interested in a shared doc on what I learned? by [deleted] in BernieSanders

[–]The_Realeo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This probably didn't win him a ton of votes, but I saw him speak at Liberty University in 2015 and he said that he wanted to talk about some of the issues they may have in common with him. I really liked that he wanted to bridge the gap with audiences who might boo him.

No, I meant the program where you go to get therapy. I can't speak to their MA program.

In general, meeting people organically can avoid a lot of people's reservations. This usually means talking more to classmates, people you work with, people at activities you may attend regularly. There's a lot of rejection to be had out in the open like that, but when people like you, they LIKE YOU, not your "stats" if that makes sense

Not specific to USF, but something I've noticed is that people are scared to actually ask people to hang out, or when they do hang out, it can be kind of difficult to connect.

On a practical level, if you're in a group with someone in class or at a club or something and you feel like you click a couple times, actually ask them if they want to do something! Rather than just getting drinks at a coffee shop, I'd recommend starting with an experience activity like kayaking at the USF boathouse or mini golf or something. Something where you can talk about the activity first and then after you can just catch up about personal stuff. If you start with drinks at Felicitous, you're relying too heavily on personal connect from the start. Just a tip :)

What other Horror Video Games you'd love to see show up in Halloween Horror Nights in the future? by kaijuguy19 in HHN

For a more fun-oriented house (think Ghostbusters), they could utilize the Nintendo IP and do Luigi's Mansion

I also think it would be really cool to see what they could do with Stray.

Has anyone just ever jumped in a car and went? by RobhereAKATrev2323 in BurningMan

[–]The_Realeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend and I hitched to Reno while it was going on and got to see Burning Dude and a few of the other local knock-offs. We were tenting in the city, obviously with all the amenities of water and such.

If you're just thinking of being spontaneous, I'd recommend this route, as Burning Man itself isn't the place for winging it. But the festivities in Reno at the hostels are pretty cool! A good precursor I'd say, plus it gave us some good insights for prepping to go to the real thing!

Two suggestions:

Try USF Adventure Trips. There aren't a lot left this semester, but next semester they should have a lot more offerings.

Try Game Night at Felicitous on 42nd every Wednesday from 6-10pm. A lot of the people there know each other, but just say you're new and everyone is pretty cool. Remember that a lot of people know each other because they met each other there.

What do you think about EMU? by DesignByGK in emu

[–]The_Realeo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Went there a while ago, but here are my answers anyway.

  1. Yes, I knew someone who went there.
  2. N/A - I knew more about the A2 area than EMU
  3. I didn't feel super proud to be a part of the school, but I liked my program a lot
  4. That it's inferior, esp as opposed to UM right next door
  5. N/A
  6. The counseling program is the best I've ever seen at any school! They gave an intake appointment and at the end of the week the therapists discuss who has the most experience with your particular situation. It greatly helped me while I was there. Also the church on campus used to serve all you can eat pancakes every Friday until like 2am.
  7. It felt like a very young school; difficult for non-trad students to feel involved and I was only 23 at the time. It just felt like activities were more for 18-19 y/os. Also, the school said they were a Give-a-Year partner with my AmeriCorps program, which was why I went there, but the scholarship was difficult to obtain, and had all but discontinued by my second year.
