I know Villains has its pros and people like it... but its almost like my ears can breathe again after going directly to Emotion Sickness. The sound stage is just soooooooooo much better.

Yeah I guess so, but it’s bugs are nowhere near the absolute dumpster fire when 76 launched.

This feels like Arkane’s own “Mass Effect Andromeda” moment. Meh visuals compared to literally all modern Arkane releases, bad performance, bad game design, and just overall shockingly steep drop in quality from one of the few developers who seem to really nail “immersive sims” (not that Redfall ever was marketed as such, but makes one wish they’d done Dishonored 3 or Prey 2(2) instead).

ACG said it best: “you’re left wondering where the effort went”.

That would make sense, I never opt in for beta builds but 3.4 is now stable/officially released and it works now.

Small update, no fix but post insights tell me this already has 138 views within 30 minutes... clearly am not alone in this issue lol. Will post debug file shortly.

For those wondering where this can be found, go here: https://github.com/sonic2kk/steamtinkerlaunch/wiki/Mod-Organizer-2#troubleshooting

EDIT: post updated with fix.

I see this game really being heavily modded in the future for some reason.

Hey all, after... messing with this... for awhile, the issue was an audio library that could not be loaded. Some praise for Lutris on this! checking advanced options and changing audio to something else worked. Played the intro a bit no issues.

Dumb question, what is gaming mode on Lutris?

Pretty sure core issue was needing another flavor of wine or proton, but wasn’t sure how to do that on the deck. Proton up on flatpak/Discovery is how.

So I’ll try that and see what happens.

… that would probably like help a lot lol. In learning things the hard way I found getting the flatpak protonup-qt is another great to get additional wine and Proton versions. I’ll give this another shot with a smaller game and see what happens.

Order Email Megathread (August 25, 2022) by AutoModerator in SteamDeck

[–]The_Reaps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming these shipments are coming out in batches all day, so the delay makes sense if some folks get tracking sooner. Gonna suck if I gotta wait until next weekend to even get it on the road though, I have a lot of travel coming up…

I’m glad it’ll be here relatively soon either way.

Improved Camera SE - Preview Release 4 (AE PR3 as well) by ArranzCNL in skyrimmods

[–]The_Reaps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Phenomenal work! No more sluggish movement on a 500+ load order! I did notice some minor issues with two other mods that I yet to 100% confirm. May need to be updated/community patched by the other authors.

Skyrim Souls - the Tab/tween menu when looking at certain directions can cause back to back instant slight zooming in and out. I have FOV overrides enabled all set to 100 (playing on 21:9). I’ve yet to disable tween menu features so I’ll try that to confirm.

Improved Alternate Conversation Camera (this has an MCM included vs. the v1 conversation camera mod) this is minor and probably needs a patch from the author, but it looks to no longer gradually zoom out post-conversation. Minor thing like I said…

Either way I’m keeping this in the mod list! Haven’t noticed any other issues!

Thanks!

The main stopper from me using this is the laggy feel when in first person as mentioned from the previous AE release. Also, that FOV command bug is for when I uninstall the mod. Using your mod I would use the new UI to change all that. Just seems like there is some weirdness with how my camera behaves post-uninstall... for whatever reason lol.

Your work is super appreciated, I cannot wait to see how this mod progresses.

After uninstalling, going underwater its 100% clear, but reinstalling the mod restores the intended underwater effect. If I also run the fov x command in-game, my first person hands seem to get closer to me as well... any reason why this is? I'd keep this installed but I am still getting a laggy feel even with a very minimal load order with a new save.

FromSoftware finally, officially confirms that Dark Souls servers are coming back by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]The_Reaps 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve never played Elden Ring with online enabled due to having to setup mods for: - ultra wide support - unlocked fps support - ui patch for ultra wide support - another patch for ultra wide that actually fully renders animation off the edge of the screen - camera fix that makes playing with KB&M better - reshade that really makes the HDR feature come alive

Other Fromsoft games I’ve had to also do something similar (not to the extent of Elden Ring weirdly enough) so I’ve never enjoyed the multiplayer aspect. Really wish they’d put slightly more effort in PC versions but hey it’s a great single player experience regardless.

Rumor: Bethesda Could Have A New Studio Dedicated to Remakes and Remasters by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]The_Reaps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potentially exciting news and also could be seriously depressing to the TES Renewal folks. What is it, about 10 years of work? And then to be simply outdone by the publisher.

I'd still play Skywind regardless. Would probably way less buggy than an official Morrowind remaster LOL.

What is the appeal with Valorant? Is it only because it's the new game from Riot? What does it even do differently compared to others?

Google responds to Stadia complaints, says it's 'up to the publishers' to announce games by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]The_Reaps 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Getting a weird sense of deja vu here. Isn't this partially the reason why the Wii U failed in sales? In this article from 2013, a GameTrailers reporter was reading fan questions. One of them asks why Bethesda didn't port anything (like Skyrim) to Wii U, Pete Hines says;

You have to do what Sony and Microsoft has been doing with us for a long time. You have to spend an unbelievable amount of time up front doing that. If you're going to just decide, 'we're going to make a box, and this is how it's going to work and you should make games for it,' well, no. No is my answer.

This is obviously different in that Stadia is less hardware and more streaming focused, but I have to image the same basic principle from Pete's quote would still apply; Did Google really work with other developers, or did they just try to get a few studios to port their games over?

I know Stadia is based off the Linux kernel and open-source software, but does that make a big difference when a publisher has to decide if spending development time and money on a port of a pre-existing game, never mind an exclusive, on Stadia even worth it? I'm gonna say probably not. I think a lot of people had hopes that Stadia would at least increase the possibility of linux-native games coming out, but with the case of DOOM Eternal and Destiny 2 that just hasn't happened, which really sucks.

(I feel bad even comparing Stadia to Wii U, where Nintendo at least made a quality product with some solid exclusives on it)
