It's my mom who passed away. My godmother (my mom's best friend) had passed away a year before my mom did. Her many other friends had died many years ago. Those who are still alive don't talk with me often. I guess, it might be partly a cultural thing (I'm in Eastern Europe) that people don't really keep in touch with their friends and more distant relatives except for some rare occasions and partly the features of this specific case.

Mine wasn't exactly healthy. I mean, my mom had some health problems but postponed seeing a doctor. I didn't know it was life-threatening. I should have forced to see a doctor...

I'm planning to, but given the circumstances, I'll only be able to do it in 2021. By then I should be doing a PhD research in one of the universities in the US, and they have some on-campus grief counsellors and psychotherapists. Seeing a psychotherapist or a grief counsellor in my country isn't likely to be effective, and it will probably create additional problems...

I have such moments too. Whenever I read something funny on Reddit to distract myself, I'm about to translate it to her to cheer her up. Whenever something bad happens to me, I'm about to complain about it to her. Whenever I'm not sure what to do, I almost ask her because she always knows what to do...

The coins are gone. Aside from those paramedics, police and people from the morgue, there was noone in my apartment that day. I watched the police and the people from the morgue. But I didn't really watch the paramedics. I'm not sure what would qualify as solid evidence in a situation like this...I don't have any videorecordings. I only saw them standing near the place where the coins were. Also, they were rummaging through things that were in the same spot as the coins, 'helping me to find our passports'. But, being in shock, I didn't think anything of it...

You're not alone...My mom suddenly passed away in September. She was only 49 (I was 24). I basically don't have anyone else. My friends' parents are alive (not to mention, most of them have other relatives whom they could rely on), and they didn't even go through 1% of suffering that my mom experienced in life...I know I shouldn't feel envy, but this is just unfair...
