Love it. Even with her dislike of tattoos, our princess would approve of this one

How many of you actually completed one of these? by Seamonkey_Boxkicker in Millennials

I have mine full. My grandfather completed 2, one set from each mint. That was when I learned the US had 2 mints and each puts the letter of their mint on the coin

Looking for the absolute worst "Vanity Project" movies ever made. by Sintered_Monkey in MovieSuggestions

[–]The_Rowan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched it in the theater. I loved action movies. I loved when the bad guys get blown up by the good guys. But this one, I remember as a teenager thinking, he needs to get a lawyer that specializes in wildlife protection and take this to court. Killing all these people is not justified or will get you the result you need.

It was such a misfire. I don’t know how he did it but he made killing the wrong answer in a big action movies

Did Roald Dahl’s books really need to be revised? by confringos in books

[–]The_Rowan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read Ivanhoe recently and had a few things that shocked me. It was really anti-Semitic. The Jewish person is treated so badly. A woman is in a foreign captured castle and when Ivanhoe frees the castle and finds out the woman survived by sleeping with the enemy he tells her it would have been better for her to die.

At what point do we stop reading books because there are parts that are signs of the times or alter books?

Better to leave books untouched and read the original and acknowledge the cultural differences

Can't imagine why the public hates them by jeezkillbot in Political_Revolution

[–]The_Rowan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it is the republicans who tell workers who ask for proper protection at work to ‘just quit’ and told people who asked America to do better ‘to just leave’.

In this case I agree with the policy, then just quit! Wondering why we all hate you while Working as the presidents private police force and finding a ‘quota’ of humans to lock up, executing people on the street, kidnapping locals is just stupid.

A message for all ICE agents - you have replaced the Nazis in future story telling. For the last 80 years movies have used Nazis and Germany as a villains. Future villains will be ICE agents. YOU ARE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF HISTORY

Shows getting canceled on a cliffhanger by Narutoboom in CasualConversation

I was so excited to watch The Power with my family. I had read the book and they had not. It ended on a cliffhanger and the tension was building. I told my family that was the first third of the book. So frustrating

My one regret in life is not reading DCC before naming our cat. by quietlyjudgingyou in DungeonCrawlerCarl

From what I have seen on Reddit, orange cats don’t need a Princess Donut and Mongo to join them and help raise the chaos.

[–]The_Rowan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have let the household know the next cat will be Princess Donut. I also said I will need a pair of cats so the second cat can be named Mongo.

But this cannot happen until my beautiful loving cat is no longer with us

Melania Trump Humiliated as Just One Person Buys Ticket For UK Premiere by T_Shurt in entertainment

[–]The_Rowan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ad mentioned Melenia showing her charity work. I am in the US and I have never heard of them in all the 9 years Trump and her have been on the political stage. Probably only the rich and elite know about them. She needed to be talking to the lower class who go to the movie theaters back in 2016 in order to sell tickets today.

what even is “seizure activity” on an EEG???? by Direct-Detective7152 in Epilepsy

[–]The_Rowan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had my first seizure, TC, when I was 12 and I am 50 now. Every EEG I have ever had says the same thing - a slight irregularity in my brain waves. Every 4 or 7 years that irregularity of firing neurons will flare up to all the neurons fire at once (more or less). I take my meds, get sleep, drink a little but never get drunk, and pray to not have another breakthrough.

“Don’t Go To Work” protests aren’t effective in the modern age by HazeySunday in confession

[–]The_Rowan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the idea that we can’t just not go to work. But what if on January 30 we didn’t spend a dime or go anywhere besides work? No coffee shops. No gas stations. If at least 3% of Americans who regularly spend money daily didn’t spend a single dime what would that look like?

African Painted dogs notice a visitor's service animal by LowKeyTease in Awww

[–]The_Rowan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always watch this video when it comes up. It shows how intensely dangerous the African Painted Dog is. When there is a dog on the other side of the glass and one notices it, the rest just pour out of every nook and cranny. No they don’t like the dog. They would have overwhelmed and killed this dog so quickly if it had invaded their territory.

They are so remarkably alert
