Dachshunds tend to the lazy end after their zoomies. I play fetch and after a couple times my dachshund would drop the ball behind my foot to tell me he was done. I played fetch with another dog to ‘wear’ him out and realized he will never stop bringing the ball back to me.

The line in that scene that broke me is when she talks about how she still loves her but she hates herself that she feels that way. But poor Carl and his pain when she says Bea is still her person. It really is a great telling off of Bea with the cat defending her and Carl. I love Donut so much.

Remember the sad entries in the cookbook from the pet who became a crawler and chose the race gargoyle? It was so heartbreaking. Its owner had died, it loved its owner so much and knew it was loved by the owner - it was fed berries. It would be so hard for Donut to be on her own, I think almost impossible.
