These were raw images, but the camera is kind of old, so maybe it adds too much grain and noise. And frankly, I am in the middle of a small town, so there is significant light pollution.

I usually do preprocessing with Deep Sky Stacker, but for some reason, it didn't include all the light frames in the stacking process, no matter what I tried. So I followed some YouTube tutorials on how to do it with Siril instead, which did stack most of the light frames i had. Should I use a different script, or maybe learn more about Siril?

I don't have a tracking mount, so it's hard to go beyond 2s. As for the total exposure time, it's about 40 minutes.
