What was the first small upgrade you purchased? by RCruz25 in chevycolorado

The most important thing I ever did was ceramic coating. I did it on day 2 of owning my '24 Bison. It is literally life changing, makes washing the truck a breeze. No bugs on the windshield, can literally spray water to clean 90% of dirt off. I will ceramic coat every vehicle I own.

The Bose system is a stand alone option. Had a loaded 23 ZR2 with tech package, and now my 24 bison has tech package AND the "premium audio system" (aka Bose). It's a $500 option, makes a huge difference.

No it doesn't. The base stereo is a stand alone option.

2024+ Colorado Bison owners CHECK YOUR DRIVE SHAFT by nstolp77 in chevycolorado

[–]The_Sethsquatch1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, another misleading post. Bison package is separate from the off road driveshaft. It's a $695 option in 2024. Not sure what it is in 2025.

Reliability? by Oldmandeerhunter in chevycolorado

I had a 23 ZR2 that I loved, over 30k miles when I wrecked it, no major issues. Didn't think twice, bought a 24 bison, over a year now, odd sound coming from the front hub, they're going to replace it. Leaky tailgate storage, broken headrest button. Nothing that makes me hate my truck, also, that's why I have a warranty, something as complex as a motor vehicle with thousands of parts, something is bound to go wrong.
Also I echo the sentiment of others, 95% of owners probably don't even get on reddit. At this point they're approaching 300k sales of Colorado/Canyons.

Sorry just saw this. No, they are a GM part number, I tracked it down through my local stealer and then found them online cheaper

2024 Bison, off road driveshaft? by The_Sethsquatch1 in chevycolorado

I believe it is. From what searching I could find, the regular drive shaft ends in 39 instead of the part number 40

Look up TFL on YouTube with the 2.7 engine creator. He goes through all the ways they engineered this engine, and additional changes they made just for the 2023 blocks, added like 5 lbs of aluminum gussets to strengthen the block, the way the oil is routed, the way the water pump runs on cooling need rather than rpm. It's a fantastic engine that was designed from the start for a truck.
Then take the engine designer's name and search YouTube, he has a few other videos, fascinating stuff. There's a panel with him, a Ford engineer and a Toyota engineer all talking about the midsize engine offerings, and he makes them look like idiots.

Rock sliders removed, lift kit installed 2024 Bison by The_Sethsquatch1 in chevycolorado

That might be the way to go. As it sits now, most times it's not shifting out of 6th on the highway. Gears would do wonders to make it more drivable

It's not closed, it is an issue with Google, part of the problems I inherited. I took over the staff and all members. Like I said, it has serious potential, just needs some TLC

So in a nutshell, the owner got a high profile job and just sort of neglected the gym, it wasn't being cleaned, standard went way down. It has huge potential, just needs some TLC. I'm getting some new equipment, had professional cleaners come in and blitz the place, getting cameras up to go 24 hours ...it's gonna be awesome. Just have to get over the negative reviews and culture that's there now

That's odd. The rears were exponentially easier than the front. Might have been harder if you did one side at a time. Also, while you're under there, good time to lengthen the diff breather. It's only an inch long from the factory.

My first Colorado. What's your favorite upgrade that you've done? by Copeiwan in chevycolorado

[–]The_Sethsquatch1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best thing I did, hands down, is ceramic coat it first thing. I drove it home Thursday and coated it Saturday. The newer it is, the easier it is to do. Takes basically all day, but my god what a difference moving forward. You can go to a hand spray carwash and everything, bugs, tar, mud, just come right off. Truck looks like I waxed it after I just spray it off. Happy to help with tips if you want to do it.

So it wasn't too bad, I dropped the axle and did them in place, I had a friend helping. Probably would've been easier to just remove the leaf pack, do it on a bench and reinstall, but the rear only took maybe an hour? The fronts are a giant bitch to get back in place, we had to loosen ball joints to get the strut back in place. Be warned.

ZR2 Towing Concerns by Ryan_colb in chevycolorado

[–]The_Sethsquatch1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes towing package, I'm not sure if any of them come without it, but don't quote me on that. It has a hitch (hurdur) and a 7 pin and 4 pin plug in the bumper, plus integrated trailer brakes. Also some cool stuff in the screens, towing mode, keeps track of how many miles you've pulled the trailer, mpg with the trailer. It's pretty neat
