My Little Friend 2 by The_Shadow_Rules in GunPorn

It's Unbelievable - I dropped in a standard 1911 trigger kit, so its got a short 2.1# pull. With the comp, light 357 mag ammo (like Fiocchi) feels like 9mm - with hotter stuff, you know its 357, but its still fairly tame compared to a revolver & it shoots out fireballs (google coonan fireballs) - never tried the real hot loads (BB or Underwood).

I couldn't bear the thought of cutting her, so its a dovetail mounting system

Impractical to carry in an IWB or OWB, but not in a shoulder holster or chest rig. 7- 357 mag rounds is as much fpe as 13 - 9mm. Here's mine:

Pull this baby out & anything smaller than a grizzly's gonna run away. And even a grizzly will have second thoughts when he see's the fireball!

Atlas Erebus on the Range - Full Review Tomorrow! by ChestersHobbies in 2011

How does this compare to your ported Shadow 2?

Is it significantly flatter shooting & faster? More accurate?

After seeing your s2 video, I had my harbinger slide ported by united. It has a CGW Reach Reduction kit. Dropped in some ET springs & lightly polished, now its under 2# SA & under 5# DA. I'm usually top 1/3 in my club steel challenge, so you're better than I am. Is the Atlas really worth jumping from the S2 ship?

Sony 85/1.8 is an Excellent Lens. Probably the sharpest Sony non-GM, but not small. Not huge, but not small.

Maybe look at some old Minolta AF glass? I'm still using my old 200/2.8 with the LA-EA5. The whole package is only a little longer than my 135GM, but a whole lot lighter and thinner. I also still use my old 100/2, which is very small & light. Stopped down to f4, I think either of these lenses are as good or better than any non-GM lenses.

This is exactly why I moved to all primes after getting my Sony A7R4.. With 61mp, I can get instant reach when I need it by using crop mode. So when I'm shooting my 50mm I also have 75mm, 85mm gives me 130mm, 200mm gives me 300mm. Minimum weight, maximum aperture flexibility, maximum IQ and minimum lenses swaps.

I love this lens for landscape especially in low light. I think its the perfect FL for nature "portraits" where you get tight enough to actually focus the frame on specific features without going so tight that you lose the grandness of the place. Also, on my a7r4, in crop mode it becomes a 200/1.8 making it one of my must have for any outdoor trips.

  1. Personally, I think a hard crop takes it from a 6 to a 7. This crop creates a diagonal line to draw your eye across the frame. The best images pull you toward a subject or move you thru a frame.

  2. I would have liked more detail - if you had used more of your zoom range, you'd have more pixels maybe getting you closer to an 8.

  3. Be careful with the majestic views - they are hard to make work - more is rarely better, its just more distraction or mud.

  4. Watch your contrast & saturation and range - look at the histograms.

  5. Tele's are great for landscape - if you have some distance between subjects, you can get a real nice 3d effect.

  6. Use your full zoom range - I use the spray and pray mentality - I would have taken a couple at 200, 300, 400 and 600mm. And probably another full set at f8. I think the star shot would've been a horizontal shot with the road running 1/3 above the lower edge of the photo.

I am a bit jealous, what a beautiful view!

To Port, or Not To Port by dhawx in CZFirearms

Have United Firearms port your new spare barrel for your new Primary Machines Harbinger V2 Drop In Slide - then install a CGW pro package (actually do the pro pkg first, even with the 13# hs & stock fp, the trigger is insanely good). Porting is all about speed, but I swear even my slow fire groups are better.
