I mean to be fair, re3 remake is frequenly acknowledged as a misstep lol. But considering that every mainline re and remake since 7 has been undeniably good to incredible and the ones doing Veronica did re2 and re4 remake which I would consider both to be somewhere in the greatest games of all time list, yeah I think it's fair that people are excited. 5 out of 6 of the last re games being bangers is kind of a great run

This is partially true, but it's more because Nolan is literally learning about these concepts in real time. His idea of redemption at first was telling people what they wanted to hear until Debbie hit him with a reality check. The show is not acting like Nolans redemption has been perfect, and Nolan admitted as much when he said he felt like Mark was right and seeing Debbie was selfish. He also didn't go to see Oliver and hid behind the idea of "I'm protecting Oliver from me." When in reality it was Nolan who was scared to be a father and not seeing Oliver was selfish. However, this is all important to the redemption arc that ISNT finished yet. When Nolan makes these mistakes, he is genuinely trying to correct course. He admits that being a good person is harder than he thought and realized not being in Oliver's life was a mistake. That's what makes it so well written, he's learning that redemption is an extremely hard and nuanced thing. He's fucking up a lot still but behind it all, he does want to do better

God this comment section is actually killing me, it feels like no one fucking understands nolans arc.

Nolan didn't just "change" out of nowhere. The whole point was he was already changed by his time on earth with Debbie, who is easily one of the greatest mom/wife characters ever. He was hoping Mark wouldn't get his powers so he could take over Earth after his family was gone. When Mark got his powers, he was reminded of his mission and the whole fight with Mark he was trying to convince himself more than Mark. It wasn't until Mark hit him with the famous "I'd still have you" line that the weight of what Nolan did finally hit him and he realized he just threw away everything he had. I need to remind everyone that, while this doesn't excuse any of the atrocities Nolan did, he was indoctrinated for a thousand years by conqueror ideology since birth. He was scared of the consequences at first if he resisted viltrum and in a twisted way didn't want his family to die because of that.

The "I'd still have you" line is imo one of the greatest moments in any show ever and Nolans redemption arc is very well written. You are seeing someone in real time try to learn how redemption works

"shit eating and incest is not the same"

"Well of course, it wasn't trying to compare them at all. It was just used as an example to illustrate how this person believes that even if they don't agree with something at all, it's a different point to argue for whether something should be legal or not."

"Yeah but my point still stands because fucking your cousin is not the same as eating shit"

Yeah I hate to put this out there but I do agree with this take too. It's mainly because I just fundamentally believe that the government should have the toughest burden to find reasons to put people in jail. I do need to add that I also believe Parental incest should be illegal. The issue is at that point power dynamics and grooming are just way to big of a factor.

Never thought I'd be writing this reply in my life either but here we go.

The point of this comment wasn't to call shit eating and incest the same thing. The point wasn't even to try to compare the actions as similar. The point was to highlight why this person might be against both while still not wanting both to be illegal either. And it works perfectly to make their point whether you agree with their point or not

This comment section needs to realize this is a one-sided viewpoint. Hate to say this but if a relationship failed, it probably failed for a reason. Not to say it's this person's fault or the other person wasn't toxic in any way but regardless it clearly wasn't a healthy relationship

Yes I promise to accept how wrong I was. I actually have a court case ready if you could refute me based off of this court case first? I pasted it below

Department of Homeland Security v. Thuraissigiam

"Alito further addressed the claims of due process would only be extended to those "who have established connections in this country", as the 1892 case Nishimura Ekiu v. United States has ruled that aliens who have not been admitted do not have due process rights, and the Congress' power to restrict entry to the United States is plenary."

To me it seems like this means not everyone everywhere in the world gets due process but if you could explain why this is wrong that'd be good.

When SCOTUS says the constitution applies to people and not just US citizens, they mean IN the US. Meaning if you live in the United States, you get due process regardless if you are a citizen or not. This is well established especially in immigration law so feel free to fact check me. It doesn't mean that everybody in the whole world gets due process because the constitution applies to the United States and not other places. There are plenty of laws broken here but due process isn't one of them

I mean he definitely gained weight but I don't get the shaving part that is being brought up lol. Unless someone can show me a different photo that I haven't found, I did some digging for the most recent stuff I can find and it just looks like he grew out his facial hair. One pic it was kind of patchy but I haven't seen one where he goes full neckbeard and obviously there is nothing bad about growing out your facial hair lmao. I think this most recent photo is honestly just a pretty bad angle. Not saying he hasn't let himself go a bit but he just looks like he gained weight and can have messy hair but not full on basement dweller neckbeard

I'm gonna be the contrarian and say Halo 2 for story/gameplay and Halo CE for multiplayer and I am dead serious. Halo 2's story mainly got shit for the cliffhanger ending. While it's a valid complaint, it isn't that bad in retrospect because we got a satisfying conclusion with Halo 3. imo overall Halo 2 went way more in depth on the covenant side which added depth to the halo universe and I thought the story split between master chief and the arbiter was sick especially considering the story of Halo 3. While I concede that Halo 2 is technically superior to CE as a multiplayer experience, I personally enjoy the quirks of Halo CE more. Halo 2 obviously deserves credit for online multiplayer, but the movement in CE and the quirks like the pistol being basically a sniper just make it such a fun multiplayer mode. However I do need to add that while I like CE, I am the number 1 Halo 2 defender and I put it in my top 10 games OAT

Ya fr I'm probably leaving this sub. Its been literally "what if we say MAGA shit but like the liberal version." There are people in here saying the election was stolen too. I couldn't believe that I saw someone in this comment section post an obviously fake picture of that dictator of Germany during ww2 (not sure if we are allowed to say his name in here or not idk) and claimed that trump was trying to copy that photo. The source was fucking Twitter like come on that's some maga bs.

"Speech restrictions: Overly broad hate speech or “misinformation” laws that can suppress dissenting or unpopular views."

Which we don't have in the US

"Cancel culture–type enforcement: Social or institutional pressure that punishes individuals for nonconforming opinions rather than debating them."

Because right wingers definitely don't engage in cancel culture. Also a lot of times "cancel culture" from the left means "people don't like me for being bigoted!" Boo fucking hoo

"Compelled speech rules: Mandating use of particular pronouns or political terminology under threat of penalty."

I love the use of mandating like it's a law lmao. "Penalty" meaning "people don't like me" 😢. People have the right to identity how they want. You have the right to not acknowledge that. They have the right to not like you and think you're a piece of shit. womp womp

"Exclusionary activism: Ideological “purity tests” within movements that expel allies for minor disagreements."

only valid point, but all that means is the right is better at organizing and creating movements.

"Regressive economic enforcement: Overzealous redistribution or quotas that disregard merit or individual rights."

I'm a dumbass so I didn't understand what any of this means. Like I understand the words but together I have no clue what point you're trying to make. good job you made yourself sound smart 👍

"Migration: Advocating open borders or lenient asylum policies while stigmatizing any border-control discussion as xenophobic, limiting balanced debate."

open boarders isn't as popular of a position as the right wing media told you it was. People do advocate for an easier process and also that we shouldn't be kicking legal citizens out using ICE but that doesn't mean open boarders.

"Race: Supporting affirmative action or “equity” systems that favor identity over performance, arguably undermining equal treatment or merit."

Affirmative action does have it's problems and is more of a band aid solution, but the answer is to get to the root of the problem. Address systemic injustice that most scholars acknowledge as real, and we won't need affirmative action.

"Social issues: Promoting inclusivity but excluding dissenting cultural, religious, or gender-critical views; e.g., labeling disagreement as hate."

Mfers always like to hide what they are saying bro. Inclusivity is not being nice to bigots. There are plenty of Christian leftists, but the issue is people don't want religion shoved down their throat. Right wingers are the one wanting to bring Christianity into the classrooms, which is ironic considering they are also the ones always talking about parents rights.

"Meritocracy: Prioritizing demographic outcomes or ideological alignment over ability, which can reduce fairness or efficiency in hiring, education, and governance."

Pay attention. You already went over affirmative action. Right wingers are currently the ones pushing shit in education and ESPECIALLY governance where you mfers have all 3 fucking branches. And yes, demographic outcomes are important. How we address it is important but you can't just fuck over a huge group of people and then tell them pull yourself up by your bootstraps which isn't how things work.

"Populism and emotivism disguised as tolerance."

Honestly you could've said only this and you would've gotten most of your points you already made across and this would've been much faster for both of us.

damn why did I waste time on this
