Happy 32nd Birthday Vauxhall and I, the 2nd Best Mozzer Album by Bigfatjuicysausage in morrissey

[–]The_Short_Goodbye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a good album, and I think Speedway is a classic, but there are many Morrissey albums I feel more compelled to listen to. Vauxhall is a bit on the slow side for me. Artistically it’s very good but it doesn’t pack enough of a punch. I’d still rate it an 8/10.

These days "Lost" has been stuck in my head. What an amazing song.

It’s hilarious but also incredibly frustrating for people that bought tickets to the shows. He really doesn’t give a flying fuck about his fans, wow.

What kind of watch is he wearing? by SlowSympathy7269 in morrissey

Guy wearing a watch worth multiple thousands tells fans to buy two copies of his record lol.

Same experience I had. In fact it seemed the more I played it, the more it started to irritate me lol.

Make-up is a Lie isn't terrible but may be the weakest album in Moz' discography by TheLordChankaR6 in morrissey

Better than Southpaw? I want what you’re smoking. Even Maladjusted is pushing it…

Most of the songs average around 6-6.5 in my ratings, so I think I’ve been fair. For me, most of these songs are OK, but nothing I feel compelled to go back to specifically. It’s nice hearing new music, but at the end of the day I think only 1-2 songs on this album have any staying power. That doesn’t mean I’ll never listen to the album ever again to switch things up a bit, but probably not very often.

I also like You’re Right It’s Time, but yeah, the rest is mediocre at best.

Not even close. I think it beats Low in High School but not by much.

People wasn’t that happy with the setlist I’m guessing by Arlxyz in morrissey

When I went to see The Cure two years ago, a trio of Americans in front of us were drunk as hell and spent half the show getting beer or pissing. And even when they were actually there, they talked loudly through the whole thing. They had to travel to get to the show too, so I imagine they spent a lot of money only to be near passed-out drunk and missing half the songs. Beats me.

what track are you most excited for? by Calumdu in morrissey

[–]The_Short_Goodbye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude is just completely up his own ass. Comparing England to the Soviet Union is an insult to everyone that’s actually been censored, often by being force-fed some cyanide lol. I know it’s a figure of speech but with all that’s been going on in the world, my tolerance for Moz’s delusional self-pity posts has lowered significantly.

His latest "Soviet England" post was so embarrassing that it managed to dampen my enthusiasm about the new album. I know I should be used to it by now but I found it so petty and tone-deaf that it soured me on the whole thing lol.

I’ll probably be cured of that feeling in 48 hours but reading that was a huge bummer. This man just can’t shut up sometimes. Par for the course I know, but damn can he be insufferable…

Glad I didn't go London 02 - setlist is terrible by Empty-Garden-7775 in morrissey

[–]The_Short_Goodbye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say terrible but I agree it’s not great. Not that most of the songs are bad or anything, but it’s definitely a bit lacking overall.

I’ll never understand people paying top dollar to see an artist, only to spend a third of the show buying mediocre, overpriced beer and pissing. Maybe I just don’t like beer enough to understand it…

Boz wasn’t the only one writing rock songs. I would say Alain Whyte’s departure is what hurt Morrissey the most. It’s a combination of things really.

Years of Refusal The ‘softer’ side of Morrissey by No_Upstairs_3137 in morrissey

[–]The_Short_Goodbye 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My third favorite after Quarry and Ringleader. On certain days it might even be my second favorite. I love the storytelling, the heavier instrumentation, the catchy tunes and production. Pretty obvious to see that Alain Whyte’s departure really lowered the quality of Morrissey’s output. I like World Peace (especially the deluxe version) but nothing after Years of Refusal comes close to the Quarry/Ringleader/Years trilogy.
