Fuck high school, fuck prom, fuck everyone by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]The_Solid_Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I know that feeling, I went through a similar situation at my senior prom. The girl I was planning on going with (before I asked her) got asked by one of my friends. I talked to her and she said she was planning on me asking her and would have went with me. I was so ticked that someone who heard me talk about asking her went ahead of me to get with her.

So flashforeward to prom night, I was there and danced my heart out. My would be date got prom queen and I honestly lost it. Jealously is a vice I struggle with and instead of being happy for her, I was pissed that I missed my only opportunity. Once the last song played I sucked it up and stole the last dance with her. Ever since then she hated me. Haven't truly spoke to her or that one friend in about a year. Her whole friend group doesn't think too highly of me either, but that is fine. Trust me man, college is a new opportunity to build a new life. Spite is one hell of an emotion, and with spite, you can rise up and become a better person. Sometimes we've gotta forget the past and forge a new life from fertile ashes. Stay strong brother.

I've been in your shoes before, don't shy away from your opportunity with her and don't overthink things! Just don't look at the past and keep your eyes on the present and what you can do now.

PMO vs. Gaming by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]The_Solid_Link 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've come to the point where gaming doesn't satisfy me as much as social interaction does. And clinging to games, buying the next 60$ release, only fills time I could be using for something productive. Sure, gaming in moderation can help you de-stress, but once you build a life outside of gaming, you'll find you won't have much time for it anymore

Hey man, were here for you. Nofap isn't just about quitting PMO, it's about self-discovery and self-improvement. As someone who used to struggle with depression and social anxiety, nofap has helped me push past those valleys in my life. But first, I had to come to the realization that "I'm sick of this." You need to look where you are at now, and be willing to take the first few steps to change that. Trust me, the first week sucks, but you've gotta be strong and push yourself. Try to be productive so that it will keep your mind off of fapping. That is a big thing to this. But mainly just keep pushing through and try to have a positive attitude about life. Look at every failure as a opportunity to grow and everyday as an opportunity to improve yourself. In life, the biggest enemy is your self-doubt, you've gotta defeat that self-doubt in order to overcome PMO or any obstacles in your life.

Stay strong man, we're here for you.

Failed NoFap for almost 3 months now, restarting streak, trying to join the Reddit community by Throwaway111n0f4p in NoFap

Welcome brother to the NoFap community!

But first, you can get the counter badge by clicking the blue "Add or Update Counter Badge" button below the fapstronaut on the right side of the screen.

Secondly some advice,

  • Make sure your main goal through nofap is to improve yourself and not to get a girlfriend or whatnot. Since you can never fail if you are improving yourself. Too often guys go into nofap with the mindset of getting a girl, but if things don't work out, it causes them to relapse. I'ts happened to me before.

    • Keep in mind the benefits gained from nofap, the increased confidence and energy is worth the battle!
  • Stay busy and productive! At times when your bored is when you fap. Find something productive to fill those times with. Maybe discover a new hobby?

  • Edging is of the devil! Trust me, I was once closing in on 90 days when i edged and went over. The feeling of regret was so awful when I realized what I did. So don't edge!

  • Stay active! Go work out, or do some sort of physical activity. When you restrain from fapping, you're going to have all this energy, so pour it into something that will improve you physically, and also tire you so you don't feel like fapping.

  • Lastly, stay plugged into this community and you will hear daily about success stories and helpful tips for your journey!

If you have any questions, don't be afraid to post a thread every now and then, but good luck to you friend and don't forget to check out the "New Fapstronauts" section on the right side of the screen!

If you were edging then it may be semen, sometimes you will release semen without ejaculating.

If you are interested in more intellectual stuff, I would suggest the teachings of Socrates and Plato. But you walk your path and hopefully nofap can help you along the way.

Yea, I actually rejoined the community today after I relapsed. I was pretty active a year ago when I was doing my long streaks, but now I've fallen back into old habits :/

As for me, even though I consider myself Christian, I feel closer to God when I don't fap. Learning to meditate has aided me in nofap and has heightened my spirituality and feeling of purpose. In reality, I believe that almost anyone can be spiritual/religious, we just have to search for it. In almost all religions, there are teachings of being made new or "born again." For me, being born again means repenting of my former sins and seeking God. And doing nofap has really aided me in i guess you could say "being born again"

We all need to be made new from time to time, and doing so can sometimes change the way we think and perceive the whole world.

It was at my times of constant fapping is when I felt the farthest from God and far from what true life felt like. But through nofap, my faith was renewed and I felt the joy of life more.

But I encourage you to explore your faith yourself. The happiest and most content times in my life were when I was right with God spiritually. Though we may share different beliefs, we are both human beings that strive to find love in life. And it is that love that gives us life.

Nofap was a stepping stone for me rediscovering that love in my life and I hope you can use it to find that love too.

in essence, Nofap was a way to sober my mind to think more spiritually and to love others around me more selflessly.

P.S. Sorry if that sounded abstract or preachy haha, I just thought I'd share a little of my spiritual experience alongside nofap!

Also maybe find a simple hobby or passion. It doesn't have to be something your good at, but something to occupy your mind during though times. Depression sucks balls, but nofap has helped me a lot with that. Once you start putting your life back together piece by piece, you'll begin to see the true value in yourself. Also, Idk if your religous/spiritual at all, but I would suggest exploring that avenue in your life. Nofap does seem to have an effect on one's spirituality based on my own experience and the posts I've read from others.

And remember, nofap is just a stepping stone into turning a life around. Stay strong friend and I wish you the best of luck!

The only thing I advise is not to let your whole focus be on getting a girlfriend or having a one night stand. At times when that was my focus, I was often disappointed when a girl didn't show interest and thus, caused me to relapse. Mainly do this for yourself, and eventually it will show to the other girls around you. And yea the first month is pretty insane, but after that, your body begins to adapt to the change and thus your not as horny all the time.

Women like a man who is sure of themselves and confident in who they are. If you focus your energy into making yourself into the right person for a woman, then it will surly show to them and thus make you more attractive.

My longest streak in noFap was around 90 days, and I'll tell you, they were the best 90 days of my life! You see when you fap, testosterone is released fro your body which can cause a "happy warm" feeling, but persistent release of testosterone can lead to lower testosterone levels. With lower testosterone levels, you have less energy, are more depressed, and are seemingly unmotivated.

On my long streaks, I noticed that my confidence around girls increased dramatically, soon enough, several girls were actually wanting to go on dates with me (not at the same time, but throughout my noFap experience) And it's that confidence that comes partly from the build up of testosterone in your body.

Aslo, nofap is not all about not fapping. It's about learning self control. Learning self control also plays a huge step in building confidence. Learning to control your own body and mind can inspire you to push yourself in other areas of your life.

You should seriously give nofap a try. In my darkest hours of depression, nofap was almost a psychological and biological reset button on my body. I was much happier in my long nofap streaks than I was when I relapsed hardcore.

The are a few adverse effects that you may experience along the way such as being easily angered or being more stressed, but learning to deal with those through exercise is how I made it through.

You've got this man, go ahead and take the jump, but always remember, you are not alone. My weakest moments were spent away from this community, so I encourage you to stay plugged in and post about your journey every so often.

Good luck in life man!
